Have you guys read that news? Taiwan is really serious with their pool initiative.

44 players considering there are probably only 10 spots to fill.

I read that earlier. Yeah, that's pretty scary when Tawain sends 4 times more qualifiers than the host country (Philippines is sending only 11 qualifiers).

I read that the Philippines is sending 42 people to the qualifiers.

Maybe you have mixed the numbers? I think 11 is the number of spots for the main tournament

Taiwan will send 46 people to the qualifiers, including two Japanese. But it is a pity no Hsai Hui-Kai and Kang Chin-Ching.

No Hsia in the name list. Sad......

8 taiwanese players have already qualified for the WPC:
Wu Chia-Ching 2005 Champion
Kuo Po-Cheng 2005 Runner-up
Chang Pei-Wei 2004 Runner-up
Fu Che-Wei 2006 Semi-final
Liu Chun-Chiang 2006 Last 16
Yang Ching-Shun 2007 Asian tours ranked no. 1
Chang Jung-Lin 2007 Asian tours ranked no. 2
Chao Fong-Pang 2007 Asian tours ranked no. 3

Hmm, then the StanJames odds for him to win is a joke! Any links to players qualified?

Nothing on Worldpool...com.

I bet you that there will be more filipinos qualifying than what you see now. This will be one hell of a qualifying stage. Good luck to anyone who will be going through this.
