Taking a leave of absence from this forum

Well, the 14.1 forum is definitely cliquish. Not unlike what I recall junior high to be. Oddly enough, I actually keep coming back to look at it, much like a pending train wreck.

I, of course, will never be a member because:

-I don't have a photo of me and John Schmidt embracing.

-Nor do I have a video camera so that I can post bogus 300 ball runs.

-I also have not established myself as an authority by commentating on someones video and providing my....hmmm, "expert" knowledge.

I am also woefully inadequate when it comes to name dropping. Example,... "coincidentally, I was having a beer with Thorstan the other night, and we talked about this very thing".

That's a pity he's a super nice guy and just to be clear on that one that was a jab at Sascha. Long Story and come on man join the clique its fun in here.

I'm trying, I'm trying

:wave3:

I officially as head of the cronies invite you into the clique. Your welcome basket will be in the mail expect it in about a week. It has all of your 14.1 necessities like a video camera, a new keyboard to type all of your head petting and back patting prattle, and of course of course of course the john schmidt secret decoder ring.

lol lol lol lol lol lol

I'm ecstatic!

I'm stunned that Dennis is being denied entry into the 14.1 Challenge over this! Those pm's seem very tame, just a disagreement really.

Sean is being denied entry not Dennis.

Are you serious? That would be a pathetically juvenile attempt at retribution. Those competitions should be open to anyone who pays the proper entry fee and behaves himself during the competition. Whether you like or dislike someone, or have had an internet spat or not, should be irrelevant.

I have no idea whether Sean still wants to enter that event, but if he does I hope you will have come to your senses by then.

Believe me after everything that has been presented to me in the last couple of hours I am tempted to call the whole thing off and follow sean's example and get the hell out of this forum.

The event will go on as planned for everyone who wants to enter and of course the sponsors.

I dont post in this forum often and my opinion is probably not worth much to most of you, but I have to say I am dissapointed to read this thread.

I enjoy 14.1 a lot although I dont play a lot since there are very few who play the game here. Because of this fact, if I want to learn about the game I have a few options. I can buy books, videos and perhaps travel to take lessons. Or I can log on to AZBilliards and find interesting discussions on the topic. Here I can easily find some great advice on shot making, pattern play and safeties, etc. Unlike reading books or watching vids, if I have a question I can ask here or PM and get invaluable info from many players with tons more experience.

It is sad to see people causing trouble and or allowing disagreements to have a negative impact on this great resource. I really wish everyone would stick a little more to the game, and shy away a little more from anything personal. I really just dont want this forum to go to pot because of petty disagreements. If it is not doing something positive for the game, just keep it to yourself? Maybe?? IMHO
Respectfully,
Darren

Hold on here a minute... up until I read this, I was kind of enjoying (from a neutral perspective) reading everyone's feminine side coming out.

Now I don't know much about these competitions, their formats, participation requirements, but, how the hell can someone be denied access to any competition based on this forum banter?

Was there some paperwork to fill in proving you were eligible to participate because you were in good standing in the AZBilliard 14.1 forum?????????????

What the hell does this forum have to do with any of that? This is truly baffling. A note to the powers that be, listen, if my wife tries to enter, under no circumstances allow it. Just last night she was *****ing at me for an entire hour because I forgot to take the clothes out of the dryer, and I personally saw her put the clothes basket on the pool table! No $h!t, I saw it all ....

I have a question. Who is "THE" person responsible for making that decision?

I am responsible for that decision and please let your wife know she is also barred from this event. This decision was made purely for political reasons as I do not want drama coming to the booths this year. As I said I knew this might make me look bad bit that is something i am prepared to deal with.

You might want to consider this an opportunity to mend feelings over a common interest rather than speculate on problems that haven't happened yet. On the other hand, I can't wait to tell my wife. :)

I understand your feelings and on some level I do agree with you except on the point about your wife. She crossed a line and can not be allowed to terrorize our fellow players lol lol lol.

With all this new found drama, wondering if I need to re-watch Mean Girls DVD so I can understand the forum dynamics before posting on 14.1 again.
