Taking bids to build this cue for me

I absolutely love the look of this Omen cue! (Quilted maple with the 6 high-low ebony points and black leather wrap)

Please PM me if you are interested in building a cue like this for me. Building/providing a shaft is not necessary, as I intend on using a Predator 314-2.

Include cost per build, ETA, references, etc.

If the price and ETA is right, I may order 2 or more.

I ordered a six point cue with ivory Hoppe ring and ivory in the points and received it in 2 months. He had a break jump already finished and just had to buy both. He is easy to deal with and his turnaround is good. Good with your venture. If you would like pics just send me your email and I will send them.

I recommend you have the cuemaker make 2 shafts, which is pretty normal, then send a predator or have him get a blank and make the ringwork to match.

It is damned hard to sell a cue with 2 shafts, even tougher to sell with only one shaft, and nearly freaking impossible to sell with no shafts.

You wont save much by having it built without shafts and in the end it will cost you more.

Thank you so much to all who replied and PM'd! Some great advice indeed, so now I'm looking for a builder to provide 2 shafts with the order :thumbup:

I've emailed Pete, but will remain open to bids from other makers.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm hoping to stay within the $700 - $850 range, per order. [the field just suddenly narrowed down quite a bit now :D ]

you might be better served posting this in the ask the cuemaker section as thats generally what they do...make cues.

I will keep the bidding open for another week, then make a decision on who to go with. Please keep the PM's coming. BTW - I'm flexible within reason on the $850 I'd prefer to spend per order. All depends.

I would give Pete a shout out!

I would call Pete his curly and quilted maple woods are phenomenal. As you yourself have proven it is easy to fall in love with his work. Thats just my 2 cents. Good luck.

I had Pete Ohman build me a fancy jump/break with a lotta ringwork. The cue was a monster. The build time was quick. The price was more than fair. Pete was awesome to deal with. He is on my short list for an ebony front 6 point cue.

When VooDoo Daddy (Big Steve) was up here in Michigan, I had a chance to hit a few balls with his Omen Hoppe cue. They don't get much better than that.

I strongly suggest that you stick with Pete as a maker for that cue. You may get it cheaper from some unknown cuemaker, but I can almost promise you that it will not play the way an Omen cue would. Pete is down there in Florida in a little exclusive cuemaker's fraternity of greatness, where they all share methods and technique. Paul Dayton, Dennis Searing etc...Tom
