Talisman Cases?

This question is mostly directed at 'rackmsuckr' and anyone else that may own one.

Rackmsuckr, I noticed in your signature block that you own a Talisman.
Could you tell me how long you have had it, how it's holding up for the length of time you have had it and your general opinion on the case.

As well, what was it like dealing with the company as I noticed they are based out of Taihland. Any problems in shipping time or dammage during
shipping?

I am considering purchasing a Talisman so any advice or help you can provide would be muchly appreciated.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the questions. Besides its good looks and rugged construction, there are a couple goodies that make Talisman different than other cases.

1. It has a double strap system. Either or both are removable. It is great to free up your hands or keep your shoulders balanced for long walks.

2. It has a chalk pocket that holds 4 pieces of chalk. Keeps the other pockets clean and looks good.

3. They use regular clasp buckles - less chance to break.

4. They accommodate extra long cues without modification.

5. They throw in a lot of extra goodies like tips and towel and slipcases for the case.

To answer your other questions:

I have had a Talisman for about 5 years. These pics were taken over 3 years ago. That case was a 2/4 and was custom-made to be even longer to fit my extra-long shafts, but got retired because I shortened my cues. So they made me a 3/5 that is actually smaller.

It has held up well. It looks brand new. 2 things that happened - I put my butts in with the screws up and lost a bolt from my Stretch System down the slot with my Keith cue in it. the butt got pretty scratched up trying to remove it, because as soon as I pulled up, it got caught on the bolt. I would advise putting them screw down.

Another thing that happened is that the loops that keep the straps flat kept sliding down, as well as the shoulder strap pads, so I super glued them all in place and have had no problems since.

I get so many great comments on my case. I love it! Shipping has been speedy. If you get the back of it personalized/embossed, it will take a little extra time, but it's well worth it. It is packed really well, so no damage.

I will show you the back and a closeup as replies. Thanks for the questions and I heartily recommend Talisman cases. My husband, Mike Zimmerman also sports a Talisman case in green.

what's a stretch system? and where does the bolt go on it i thought about getting one of these but ended up going with an instroke, now i'm looking for a 3/5 case so i'm considering one again would you say you like it more than an instroke?

A stretch system is a bridge with a removable head. To fit in the case, I remove the head and rescrew the nut on the bolt. But the nut came loose and the bolt went down one hole. I never did find the nut and had to go to the hardware store in Lincoln City.

I ordered an Instroke case, but never received it. There was a mixup in shipping and it shows someone signed for it, but it wasn't me. Here is a picture.

The Instroke cases are probably lighter, but doesn't have as much storage. I also like how the Talisman pockets are accessible from all 3 sides.
