Talk to a Mechanic?

I appreciate this section of the forum exactly as it is now, and how it's been since I've joined. I assembled a 7 foot disposable table myself and got it to play as well as it probably could given it's origin and how it was built... without this section of the forum, I would've used that limited experience to convince myself that I could do the same with the Gold Crown 3 I bought. Thanks to this forum, and roughly 4-5 mechanics in particular, I learned enough as a consumer to realize that pool tables need an experienced professional to make them play the way I expect. IKEA teaches people that quality furniture doesn't come in flat-pack cartons with DIY assembly... I credit AZ Billiards and the Talk to a Mechanic section for performing the same service for pool players.

Anything I can see and/or read about pool tables and their construction and what the best ways to accomplish a task is great for my understandings.

People like Glen (RKC) and Donny and others are showing how some pretty tough repairs/enhancements are done and that gives me an opportunity to ask questions/explain visually to any table mechanic that I may be able to hire and show what other professionals are doing.

Does it have to be a question presented first before someone can provide a solution and present it in this forum. BS!

If anyone has anything to share here, I say just do it!!!

I think this area of the forum is working just fine, I found everything I would have expected here and more. As far as pictures, I think there are probably quite a few people who would not recognize top quailty table work if it were not for some of the pictures here. I learned a great deal by looking at some of these pictures posted in this area, like the difference between a table assembled properly, and tables assembled with great attention to detail, big difference between the two, just 2 cents anyway.

I just finished recovering my GC4 and rather than posting pictures I thought I'd just drop in and thank every one of the mech's that have given their advice to me in the last year or so. From tools to techniques I learned enough from them to do a great job on not only my own table but the 4 bar tables I've done recently. Gracias amigos. Don
