I'm itching to play tonight, are there any tourneys in the area tonight?

local players, is anyone interested in smacking some balls around tonight?

every Wednesday at Strokers in palm harbor they have a 9ball tournament, usually between 20 and 30 players show up weekly.

Its a pretty strong field. Damn strong for a 13$ (is it still 13?) tourney.

I wish the damn thing started at 7 instead of 8. I cannot be out till 12-1am on a weekday! >:-(

yea it's either 13 or 14, i get it mixed up with there Monday night tournament (which is 8ball but still a strong field but not as strong as the Wednesday night tournament).

The tournaments have not been ending to late, they have been good about getting started on time and starting new matches right away but of course it all depends on how many people are playing.


Beware_of_Dawg did you play last night? I was up at strokers(palm harbor) for a little while but didn't play
 
No, I didn't make it over there. The tourney I saw was on the website and I didnt want to go all the way to Palm Harbor I assumed they ran a mirror tourney at Strokers II here on the Tampa side and I figured I'd go there but found a buddy to play a couple sets with near my house.

I really have to get up there and play in that thing more often.

APA 9 ball is so freaking lame as you reach the top of the handicap scale. I would be better served spending a night a week in a tourney instead.

I know Strokers II has the same tourney on tuesday night as Strokers PH has on wednesday night. I don't think they would have them on the same night, it's only about a 10-15 minute drive from eachother.

When i get some free time, i'll let you know. The next 3 weekends are busy with the holiday/family stuff.

Been playing at PP for quite some time. I am about fed up with their care, or lack thereof, of the equipment.

How is your buddy Dave Haywood doing? It's been a while since i ran into him. Does he still play at all? Anyways come on out on a Wednesday sometime, you won't be disappointed with the competition thats for sure.

I use to only play at Park Place back in the day but i got fed up with them a long time ago. I only go there for cities now.

Haywood isn't playing anymore. He is still talking up a storm though!!

I bump into him a few times a year.

I have almost reached a point where I dont want to shoot there any more.

The tables play crappy.
No Food
Expensive Drinks
No more free pool for leaugers on weekends. (Thats really what was keeping me there)


If I have to pay to play, I am going to play somewhere that the tables dont feel like you are playing shag carpet.

That's an hour away from me. I never heard of the place. I guess if Im ever over in Seminole I know where there is a place to play now!

Once Park Place stopped food (even though it was nothing big, just some stuff from sam's club but it was good enough to hold me over), I stopped playing there. Then the place next door closed and all of a sudden you had to drive somewhere for food and that sucks.

Jose does a great job at strokers keeping the tables nice and they have good food. I'm probably there 5 or 6 days a week on a good week.

CM's has good players as well but still some of them come to Strokers on Wednesday nights for the competition.

Dan from Hammerheads was telling me about a tournament they do every First Saturday of the month. $30 entry and it's 9ball and 8ball. Hammerheads adds $1000 to the tournament.
