i am finding it does not stay on the tip as long as the green
a respected member who i asked about this told me "they do seem very similar, if there is a difference I would say it's the other way around, the blue seems to coat the tip better and stay on about the same."
for those that have tried both
what has been your experience?

The green - V10 - is softer than the blue so it stays on longer. I started with the blue when Taom first came on the scene and was happy with it until I tried the V10. By virtue of being softer and sticking more efficiently, it thereby is also cleaner than the blue, though I wouldn't call the blue - Pyro - dirty. I play pool everyday and several times a week at the pool hall and I only chalk once per rack, whether it's 8 ball or 9 ball. I might miscue once in a long while but it's always my concentration, never the chalk or my tip.

I think he is talking about the new blue V10 not the Pyro

Cowboy, I wish I knew where you were a couple of years ago. I gave away boxes of Master chalk. Don't even know how I had accumulated so much. Anyway, Merry Christmas.

Well maybe people should think about a simple fact. How many World Championship, Derby City Events, etc., have been won with Pool Player using Master Chalk. Many, many probity more than any of the New Fangled Super Duper Chalks. Plus Master Company Tweetens Fibre has been supporting Pool for a very long time.

Personally believe the finding of Dr. Dave when he tested most of the band chalk available, his finding was very interesting. I will point those with open minds, and not believer of Bulls** to Dr. Dave U-Tube Channel to see result for yourself.

I am not a World Class Pool player but I find personally Master, Silver Cup, and Last Triangle Green all work fine for me. Maybe because I Chalk between shots, I get positive results.

Now let me ask a simple question all the Pro Pool Player totting the new Super Chalks are they doing it because they love the product? Or for FREE Product, Stipends, or Sponsorship Money.

Wise man said , some people will anything for money, even say great things about product they do not use, because they get paid to do so. The washed HollyWeird Crowd is one group cashing in on do commercial for just about any product, be it good or bad. They got to feed themselves, and being greeter at Walmart do pay like doing commercials..

BTW tried the Green V-10 did not light my fire, it was way to loose if you dropped, vegetable rubber band solved rolling away problem, sold it off, back to good old Master Green

@CocoboloCowboy
your argument about how many championships were won with masters is not valid
because of the amount of time masters has been available compared to the newer chalks
just like you can say carbon fiber shafts arent worth the money because look at how many championships have been won with wood shafts
give carbon fiber shafts more time and see how many championships are won with carbon fiber shafts
i do agree that if you chalk before every shot it doesnt much matter what chalk you use
but i do believe the cleaner type newer chalks will help prevent skid/cling and that might win someone a championship

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ping.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Masters as far as performance. The thing that I feel makes V10 superior is the cleanliness. Having a home table that gets a LOT of play in a week you can really tell the difference. Going to a pool hall and coming up with a blue hand after hours of play, you can tell the difference.

I vacuum at least once a week with an off brand roomba style vac. There used to be a lot more chalk dust in there, an amount that would surprise you. Now, it's just a light dusting which looks like it's mainly skin cells and a few dog hairs.

I know there are cleaner ways to chalk, not have it loaded on etc, but no one does that, and even if they do, it's still 10X dirtier than V10. Heck, even while playing someone who uses Masters you can see chalk get all over the CB and the table. This chalk on the CB can cause skids, but mainly it just looks bad. A visual distraction that makes you wonder when/if a skid will happen.

Now in a place that has used the same set of balls since the 80s, filled with craters, and minimum balls from 3 sets, you won't ever tell the difference. On well maintained balls it really shows up and can cause a skid. This isn't an excuse as to why someone missed. It does happen, rarely, but who wants to wonder "what if" when they see it all over the CB? Dr. Dave shows us he will put chalk at the contact point to show throw effects and stuff. I've seen him mention it in several videos, so if the good Dr. says chalk on balls changes things, then it does.

It's pricey, but you can use the same round/cube for a year or more of daily play sessions. If you don't lose things $20 a year is not an expensive investment. I agree on the rolling thing... very annoying. I got a cube of Pagulayan, which is square V10. I also put my round V10 in a square holder that a friend printed for me.

In the end, it's just chalk, but the V10 is light years ahead on cleanliness.
