THATS right guys its on its way its cnc operated it hangs on the wall and the shafts or butts are cut verticaley. YETthis thing is super heavy duty and made to last with plenty of power for the task. And as i said theres no downward force applyed from gravity on the shafts or butts like on a horizontal tappering machine so you have a perfect cut everytime. and heres one for you it will cost under $10.000 yet take up a very small amount of room in your shop while just hanging out of the way on the wall. this thing will take a 3 day job and turn it to a 6 hour job with perfection everytime giving you time to get other things done in the shop we plan to offer a vacuam system because when this thing is up to full steam it throws some shavings for sure (serious shavings) By the way my name is MADISON BOB of GRIFFIN & SON CUSTOM CUES . I have contracted alignrite tools to build the machine which we hope to release in a very short period of time at this point its been in the works awhile it will be offered with a full warranty and as i said it will be under $10.000 this machine will be protected by law. So if your interested in the machine contact me we will be sending pics out to interested partys in about 5 to 6 weeks of the machine we will require a half down payment and payment in full when delivered we will be making the set price of the machine very shortly. CONTACT ME @ here are on my personal email which is dagriffin@seidata.com or call me after 3pm centrall at 1-812-873-7745 THANKS BOB ;)

Hi Bob,

Yes I remember a post a while back when you mentioned it. I'd love to get a picture and some mounting details of this thing. Maybe my new bigger shop will have one. :D

e-mail me at cuesavvy@ev1.net

Thanks
Tom

I'll take a dozen

According to US notation you are pricing the machine under ten dollars!

Cut 8 Shafts Or Butts

HI JOE!Something close indeed at this point we can,t say much about the machine other than in 5 weeks we will be releasing everything about it and were very excited about its performance at this point and about its size. Its made for the small shop or the bigger ones who just need to cut tons of shafts heck on a 20 foot wall you could line up 9 or more machines if your in the saleing of pre tapered dowells this thing is the ticket are if your a one are two man shop it makes getting a 100 dowells moving along to get final cuts 2 years down the road it will do the job in a 1/3 of the time giving yourself and your helper other things to get done instead of standing over a one shaft or butt machine. This machine will cut shafts to a very small dia. with long tapers without shatter and none of that high low feeling some shaft machines produce and the cut is super smooth. And with the cnc just create a catalog of your own shaft tapers are if someone wants a different taper measure there shaft buy the inch write a program and once your done you,ll have the program in the computer forever.the same deal on butts also except you don,t need to measure every inch inless you just want to. i got a list of serval people are interested and i,ll be contacting each one in a few short weeks. another thing guys this thing is heavy but not so heavy that you need a fork lift to get it in the door like some machines on the market just get abuddy to come over and give you a hand carrying it in and mounting it level on the wall all brackets will be with the machine when it arrives.:) THANKS BOB

cant you also screw up eight shafts or butts at the same time too?
That'd be easy if you didn't label our saved programs right.
It would behoove the user to measure his dowels and cones and label them too.
If Bob made a much smaller version, maybe two shaft/butts, version and cost a third of the cost, there'd be some takers too imo.

I am under the understanding that it is now being made by Alignrite and is ready to sell. I have not heard the price.

cueman initial post says under 10K
That was an estimate. I am curious to hear the actual selling price. Remember the $6500 Alignrite 4-axis machine we kept hearing was going to be made on our ICA forum? Then it changed to $9500 and I still have not seen the $9500 machine. When trying to manufacture something you just don't know what it will cost to produce until they are finished.

How about the $150 leather-wrapping jig that is the nuts and are in production?
The new portable lathe that is the nuts for around $2500?
