Maybe not here on AZ on the 150 and out but people will and do complain when someone runs a massive package that it's too easy. You just cannot satisfy some people.

I think a good sentence for the complainers is to be strapped to a chair and be forced to watch "C" players play 10 ball race to 100 lol. Maybe then they will develop an appreciation of excellent play.
 
Make it, take it.

Friday was brilliant pool but I did think it was too easy for these guys. With make it, take it, more strategy comes into play, and more safety play.

Plus, the stream might last a little longer.
 
I love this... the same guys crying they want to see packages jumped all over Donnie Mills when he was playing Shane rack your own 9 ball... If you guys want to see packages have Shane play Donnie Mills a rematch on TAR rack your own 9 ball.. Donnie lost and cant get a rematch LOL thats unbelievable...

Francisco won 8 games in a row, but it was a 7-pack, not 8. The first win (Game #4) was a runout after Alex broke dry.

I see what you're saying but since he ran out from a dry break, I consider it "stringing 8 racks together." If the first rack had been back and forth I would have said 7.

Outside IN (starting at the 1-Ball or 15-Ball) or Inside OUT (starting at the (9-Ball or 7-Ball) is a great game for good players.

That will slow 'em down a bit, but not too slow.

We'll see some real magic.

Actually I dont think anyone in the world will play Donny that game. Shane was nutty enough to try it once and out ran the nuts because Donny shit all over himself at the end. After seeing it first hand I don't know why anyone would try that game. Its impossibly hard to fade.

It was dramatic as hell knowing the only way Shane was getting to the table was when Donnie made a mistake.

No one can run away with 8 or more racks run.

Get two hot chicks, Viva LAS VEGAS, we will be howling at our TV.
One to Break and one to Rack.
Leave the Pro girls at home, I judged several beauty pageants, they are not hot.

The break girl to be scantily dressed.
She should not be a great breaker thus leaving clusters of balls.

The Rack girl should have a nice rack, showing lots of cleavage.
Have her use a Magic Rack.

I would break, but girls out break me. :frown:

UFC has hot ring girls.

TAR has set the precedent with Jennifer Barretta all dressed up.

You should have the rack girl use a standard triangle rack.

I'll give you a minute to think about why.

Not necessarily. Let's look at some numbers.

The Diamond 10-Ball Players Championship at the SBE a couple weeks ago was alternate breaks. The Inside Pool brackets do not show the scores of the sets for the first round of play (round of 64 players), but they do thereafter.

Seventy-two races to 8 were played in the final 5 rounds of the event (32 players on down to the finals -- 2 out of 3 races to 8, single elimination). The average score of those sets was 8-4.4. The distribution of the scores was as follows:

8-0....1
8-1....7
8-2....9
8-3....6
8-4...17
8-5....4
8-6...13
8-7...15​

So in 40 (56%) of the 72 sets, the loser won half or fewer games than did the winner.

So this is some (meager) evidence that an alternate break format need not produce mostly close matches.

I suggest they flip at the start lag or whatever and the winner picks a group stripes or solids they are that group the entire set. So efren is always solids. Svb is always stripes. Deal with it. I think that would make for interesting play

Without giving it a ton of though, I like that idea.

Rules like "One Foul" and "Open After the Break" playing 8 Ball were just designed to speed up play and make the game easier to "equalize" the fields.

In 8 Ball you have to play "Make it take it" or the game's much too easy for champion level players. If you make two stripes and one solid you are STRIPES. If you make one of each, then the table is open and you must make a ball to establish what group (solids or stripes) you have for the game. If someone scratches on the break (or fouls) it MUST be ball in hand behind the head string, not ball in hand anywhere on the table. "One Foul" is too easy.
 
Got word from Efren.

Next Friday will be open after the break.

We are extending the race to 27. Because without random odd numbers it just wouldn't be pool.
