TAR 35 is now available to watch on demand in 720p. Price is $15 for the entire match or $5 for each individual day if you only want to sweat a part of the match. This was a race to 100 10 Ball between Shane van Boening and Dennis Orcollo. The first day has what is in my opinion some of the best ten ball ever recorded. Commentators were as follows:

Day 1: Robert "Cotton" Leblanc and myself
Day 2: Jeremy Jones and Robert "Cotton" Leblanc
Day 3: Robert "Cotton" Leblanc and myself

You have streaming access to the match for one year on any device as much as you want. You can download the file to keep as well. These are large files that use an unusual compression so I can not guarantee they will work for you. I do recommend that if you download it you use the free VLC Media player to watch it. They will work with VLC.

Also available is what is in my opinion the most exciting match TAR has ever filmed. It is the SVB vs The Lion DVD that was filmed at the 2008 Derby City Classic at the old Executive West Hotel in the action room. It was a 10 Ball race to 21 action match between a young Shane Van Boening and Alex Pagulayan. It is just under six hours long and is available for $6.

Commentators were:
John Schmidt
Bob Hunter
Darren Appleton
Jeanette Lee

This is old school TAR. It was the first Derby we ever set up at. It is single camera coverage in 4x3 SD format. The quality is solid for what it is. The price reflects the lower production standards that we did at that time. It is very watchable as the commentary and play is awesome IMO. This a great look into the feel of the old Derby on a special night.

These files are smaller at a little over 2 GB for each disc and have been encoded in a conventional mp4 manner. They should play with any media player if you choose to download them. For more info and to purchase click here: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/svblion

Coming soon on TAR On Demand will be TAR 1: Corey Deuel vs Shane Van Boening. Commentators were Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona. I am working on it now and expect it will be ready to go early next week. I admit to cringing a little at the production quality of our first big event but its watchable and not all that bad. Its a great look at Shane before he was a star along with amazing commentary from two of the best.

that's great news, and thanks a lot for even greater pricing Justin!

I sincerely hope VOD's go well and let you put other matches on there. I'm looking forward to buy JS vs DH all-around I have never received as a DVD set then. And also famous SVB vs Earl 10-footer, because as long as I was planning to place an order TAR decided to seize DVD production.

VOD also is a great way to distribute matches worldwide at no cost, I still regret you had to make a decision not to deal with overseas orders (probably international mail issues being one of the reasons).

Good luck with Vimeo, it's a great deal so far, and so good you finally found a service that suits your needs and doesn't charge a fortune for that.

Are you saying I owe you a DVD with Schmidt v Harriman?

If so just send me some documentation to justin@theactionreport.com and I will send you whatever you paid.

As for the dvd model its a nightmare that lost money. Thats why I stopped. Hopefully the VOD is different. Let me know on the Schmidt/Harriman thing.

I know it's gonna take a while to get all the matches up. But I'd love to watch Hatch vs Dechaine, I never got to see all 3 days of that, and I wanna watch some drama lol

It takes awhile to process and upload the matches because most are 15-20 hours long. Right now I am working on the newest matches which are in HD and the old matches that were made into DVDs. The DVD ones are pretty straightforward to get up but figure it takes about twice the length of the match to convert and upload. The old matches not on DVD will take a lot more work.

As long as the VOD looks like it is going to make sense I will continue to put new stuff up. Its doing alright now but honestly not what I thought it would do. I'm hoping its just because people do not know about it yet. We'll just have to see.

Thanks for the newest match coming next week ive always wanted to see the very first TAR match. A must upload in the future should be the gambling matches of 8ball between Shane and Dennis the first time they played. The ones the played for the podcast before the main match up. Crazy as hell seeing them run 6-7 packs on each other

JCIN- So if I purchase one of the matches, I can elect to download it to my hard drive and then with the proper video player watch it any time I like?

I know you covered this in another thread...sorry in advance for being redundant.

Yes. Works well but big files. If you don't have a download manager for IE I would suggest Chrome or Firefox. For playing VLC is the nuts.

Because great pool alone is just great pool, but with drama, it's super great pool

I knew but had already bought both the SVB-Orcullo and SVB-Efren TAR matches. You keep putting the old ones up on VOD, I'll keep buying them. Just sent $6 for the SVB-Alex match. Looking forward to many more.

Now, time to light up a stogie, grab a good pour of bourbon, and sit back to watch some great pool while the old lady is out on the town with the gals.

I just downloaded SVB-Alex 2008......Excellent quality....plays perfect with Windows Media player.....for 6 bucks your practically stealing. Thanks JCIN

Justin,

I hope the VOD works out for you in the long run. I came to watching TAR matches a little later than most. I think the first one I bought was Mika vs. SVB. I haven't ordered any of the VODs yet, but a part of that is because they have all been matches I've ordered live. As soon as you get TAR 1 up you can count on an order from me. Probably the same for any of the other early matches. I'm on the fence about the SVB vs. Alex match you just uploaded, but only because I bought the DVD of that one, as well as the rematch. Still might buy the VOD to download the files if my WD TV Live can play them.

Anyway, I'm just saying that I hope you get more of the old matches up before you make a decision on whether it is worth your time to continue. It's at least an excuse to stay inside when the temperature starts approaching 120. I'll probably end up buying almost all of them, eventually, but I'm more likely to buy matches I haven't seen, or haven't seen recently. And I'd pay at least $50 if you can find the video of Corey playing Dippy Dave 1-pocket. Most hilarious commentary I've ever heard.

Johnny

Is there a TAR VOD Homepage with the links to all the VOD matches somewhere?? Having to keep track of all these links to send to different people will very soon become too large to remember. :/
