TAR 35 preview

This will be a good one, two of the best locking horns in a true test of endurance and skill. Both players are well rested, Shane enjoying a rare month off at home to relax, fish and eat good food. Nothing like some quality time with your family, especially for a guy who is always on the go. I saw him two days ago in Vegas, practicing on the Diamond table at the Cue Club. He looked healthy and fit, and raring to go!

Dennis has been home for two months, and he's itching to play. He was deeply disappointed that the big tourneys scheduled for April and May got canceled. He loves to be in action and he has prepared himself well for his match. For the last few days he has been at my house, and playing day and night on my Diamond which is set up almost identical to the TAR table, with 4.25" pockets. Let's just say you will see one of the best on the planet in peak form!

I look for this match to be well played, hard fought and go down to the wire on Day three. This one is definitely a BUY! I don't usually stay home to watch these long matches, but I will be sweating this one myself. This is TAR at it's best. I hate to say it (no I don't) but this is so much more interesting to me then that other "show" going on in Vegas. It's real pool with two great players, both in the prime of their career, both in peak condition and with real money (not a paycheck) and a lot of pride at stake!

I look for an epic battle between two great cue warriors, neither one who wants to lose. Sit back and enjoy! I know that I will.

tap tap. you said it Jay this has all the makings of an epic matchup. You could probably flip a coin to determine who will win this one. I'm like you don't normally like to watch the long matchups but believe I'm ordering this one up !! TAR rocks !

This match promises to be epic, can't wait!

Jay, since they're playing 10 ball - what would a fair spot be between you and Dennis in 10 ball on your home cloth?

:grin-square:

I figured I'd get to this before JAM and her "rules or English" LOL

I think you wrote a PRE-View not a REview, as this match has not happened yet :p

Can't wait to see what happens, aside from not having the money to bet on this, I would have a tough time picking a winner.

I wonder if they'll have anything on the light...

I don't wonder if there will be anything on the rail though! It might be rather large too...

Although I admire the way Dennis conducts himself, I gotta pull for The Kid. Whether his break will be enough to help get past Dennis is a tough call. If I were handicapping this I'd give Dennis a slight 7:6 line advantage. I hadn't checked the action room - I ought to.

Jay, what kind of practice routine does Dennis do?

He practices Ten Ball for as much as 10-12 hours every day, breaking the balls and running out. He may work on his break only for 2-3 hours. His game is sharp right now, I can attest to that. He will be here for the next three months, playing in every event he can.

We never play Ten Ball, that would be a joke. I do play him Banks and he gives me 5-4 and I occasionally win a game. In One Pocket he gives me the break and I can get on the table (that's huge!). Again, I will occasionally win a game.
