Corey, is a very good 8 ball player. A few years back, he beat Shane playing a set of 8 ball for 5 dimes. Yes, I know Shane plays better now, but Corey can play some 8 ball.

If they play open after the break, I'm afraid Corey doesn't stand much of a chance. Now if they were to play different rules, then I think Shane is still the favorite, but he doesn't have as big an edge.

Both of these guys are in my top 5 list, so I'm looking forward to this match up.
 
Just a heads up on the schedule and order of play:

I have changed the order of play for the games around from the original line up. Some people brought up a good point that having the One Pocket on Sunday would be a pain for people because it could run long and they have to work early. To address that I have moved the One Pocket to Friday, 8 Ball on Saturday and 9 Ball on Sunday. Start time was pushed back to 6 PM Pacific each day as well because Corey has to play a Bonus Ball match on Saturday and the normal 5 PM start would cut it too close.

Hopefully Bobby Cotton and a player. If Max is in town I will ask him and I may be able to get a few other players if they are in town for BB part deux. I may end up in the box for awhile as well depending on how peoples schedules work out.
 
What a great match this should be!!
Two of the finest players in the world today, and both of them are also fine ambassadors for the sport. Classy gentlemen. I can feel safe letting my kids watch this one with me.
I think Corey is going to bring it for this event. Look for him to win the 9-ball and 1-pocket.
But should be a great match either way.

Are there any breaking restrictions in 9ball? Do they have to break from the box? I saw that it is rack your own with standard rack, if allowing breaking from the side rail as well you could see some massive packages put up.
