Bring Back Bais

When did it become politically incorrect to root for your own countries guy here in the U.S. What do I mean?

Well take the Mosconi Cup (here) for example and the Mosconi Cup (there). When it's here well it would be hard to tell it's here except for the fact that you know it's here and the fact that they'd be rooting so hard for their players if it was there it would be hard to hear yourself think! (not the case here)

I'm an American and I root for the Americans to win. Well that is unless it's a World Championship then really there's hardly anyone to root for anymore.

Maybe I just got my nickers in a twist but it seems to me sometimes even the commentators are bias. If I hear one more time how stoic the filipino players are or what a gentleman Ralph Souquet is I think I'll puke.

I mean that's nice and all but I hope the Americans beat their heads in on the table (of coarse). What I don't hear a lot of talk about is how some foreign players are subsidized by their countries. Even the BCA gives spots that could go to American players away to foreign players sometimes for World events. (correct me if I'm wrong about that) but I thought I read Jam talking about that practice and I doubt that it could or would happen for an American over there.

I am not taking anything away from these players they are great players I just think we go over board trying to be the nice Americans sometimes that's all. There I said it what some others have been thinking too I imagine, go ahead and flame me if you want I don't give a crap that's how I feel !!!!

The European Championships have been going on for the last week or so, they have 24 (that's right) 24 tables being live streamed one of those being the Tv table. COME ON AMERICA

A few weeks ago they had the Charlie Williams T and A show that nobody wanted to see (except Charlie maybe) live streamed at a room in NJ. Tonight Hatch is playing Sossei at the same venue cameras there but they won't be on, GO FIGURE. Don't worry, if I feel the need to say a lot more stuff I'll go find a therapist MAYBE A FOREIGN ONE CAUSE I HEARD THEIR A LOT BETTER! ------------>>> GO GO GO AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to hear a breakdown of what seperates the regional tours from points events besides just the added money. Since corporate whales are not interested in ponying up tens of thousands for 'points events', might competitive pool be better served by a greater number of events with $50-100 entries that are more manageable by local promoters and can funnel players to the larger non-open events. I believe this is how players before the 50s qualified for championship level tournaments, with a few all stars granted exemptions. More small pies can feed the family just as well as one large one.

Some great topics in here. Thanks to all who posted. We will be live in about 45 minutes and we will be talking about some of the things brought up in this thread.

What do you guys think of Barry doing away with paying the entry fees for past championn?
Also what do you think of the US Open 9-ball event becoming a seeded event with input from the BCA, WPA, And the ABP? Johnnyt
