On one of the last TAR podcasts I thought I heard Mark G say they (Greg S?) were looking into having a Bar Box tournament on the East coast. Anyone know anything about this...like what East coast state. Johnnyt

I think they were referring to the Tunica event (the next big "derby"). They said the bar tables would be a big hit because of all the talent on the east coast.

Iirc, Mark said that they would possibly do a third event which might be on the east coast. Then they kinda discussed if this would impact the derby, is there really a need for another big tourney, could they hammer out a deal with the casino to do multiple events, yada yada yada....

Sounds like a lot is up in the air and waiting to see how the Tunica event turns out. Always good to hear things happening though.

I dont ever recall seeing a bb tourney up here in the northeast.....besides the SBE. I always forget how big a percentage of the country plays on the small track. I really only see them in bars up here.

I need to find a good diamond bb and hit some on it.

Yep, we here in the Northeast say, "what's a barbox? Is that something you play with a Wii?" :D

J/K of course. It is true that huge swaths of the country base all of their tourneys on the little guy, because it's the predominant pool-playing platform.

I remember playing a lot of pool in Northern California and Nevada before joining the military. It was mostly big tables. I was completely confused when i showed up in South Carolina and I had to learn to play on bar tables. It seemed like that was all they had where I was.

After traveling all over the country, I think it is pretty much split up between big tables and the little guys. I see no clear favorite. Unless we count bars, of course... That would be a landslide!
