Was just watching some videos from the 2001 WPA world championship that povpool has uploaded and one had kim davenport. The announcers mentioned he pioneered a practice game called target pool to help with learning and becoming proficient at controlling the cue ball. I tried youtubing and no luck. google searches just mention target pool but I can't find a tutorial.

anyone can give an idea of how this drill works? I need any help I can find on trying to make my cue ball control better. or is target pool basically ther stuff I see on tor lowry's video where he puts the small white dots on the table and instructs his students to drive the ball there?

I offered a user $100 a few years ago for his old target pool game. Got declined. It's rare, I used to have one but no clue what happened to it.

A long time ago Accu-Stats diid a match with pros playing target pool. I don't think is was a big seller.

Target Pool sold as a boxed set... Instruction manual with shots & tip placements explained... Cloth targets... Cardboard rulers graduated for 6, 7, 8 & 9' tables... Score sheets.

The set I bought also has a VHS with Kim Davenport(author), Buddy Hall, CJ Wiley and Leonardo Andam. They all played a variety of selected shots from the book for score.

The targets for the cue ball are larger and you get more points for leaving the cue ball closer to the target. It's more organized and detailed than just going for the dots. It included a bunch of specific shots for several "courses" as I recall.

Lots of similar drills are available now.

I have an extra set of Target Pool if anyone has to have the real thing.

Last real Target Pool I saw for sale sold for over $139.. years ago.

I'm still in the market for the real thing. Doubt I'd pay more than a hundred though.

Thanks Kim........

Target Pool is a cool game and you can form teams to compete.
We've played this on 9' tables and some of the shots are just nutso.
The best players find a lot of these drills challenging and frustrating.
Great way to test the accuracy skills of players & cue ball movement.
Here's what it is.......besides a case of ulcers from playing this game.

My Target Pool is still sealed in plastic.

The Bullseye instructional by Jerimiah Gage was really develped because Target Pool isn't being made anymore. It's a good alternative.
