Why should Europe get to choose its team from all of Europe, but we can't use all of North America?

Are they scared we could field Alex on the team? He is Canadian. Perhaps Morra down the road.

Were they scared of Rafael Martinez 20 years ago when it started?
Parica was/is a u.s. Citizen, he could of been eligible back then, but not now, obviously.

Something just don't seem fair we use 1 country and they can choose from 50 countries.

Furthermore team Europe is like robots, programmed to play only 9 ball and only race no longer then like 13, otherwise they say they can't see the finish line.

I'm just curious, how our team fares if we have

In 8/9/10 ball yes they have 3 players who would be a toss up.

Does team Europe have any 1 player favorite over Archer in an 8/9/10 ball? NO, but they have 3 that could be a toss up.

Another thing is this.
If you move to the u.s and become a citizen you should not be representing any other country. This is more towards the women's side of pool then anything. But it happens in the men's on some scale.

Wait, so you're saying that daz or mika or Niels or toasty aren't favorites over Johnny and Corey in 9 and 10 ball?

Nobody in Europe plays One Pocket or Banks.

We will never know, cause they will never play. They are tourney players. They don't gamble. Noones a favorite over a dedicated Corey. He's the most talented player on earth.
 
it's 2 in the morning here, i'm not gonna dissect your whole post. However, I think we have snooker covered over here :wink:

Man, guys like Djokovic only win tournaments, if they would ever gamble against guys like Isner they wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh we do play both. We also play Snooker, Pyramids, Carambole and Blackball, just to mention some.

But yeah, the OP has certainly had some nice stuff and plenty of that before posting, I give you that :thumbup2:

Agreed but dedicated Corey hasn't been around for years. I highly doubt that 4 days of nine ball where he gets to play 40 or 50 games will dedicate Corey. It's obvious that having to fade all the champions that come from all over the world to play in the few tournaments we have is not enough to have dedicated Corey. Maybe Corey will get dedicated to snooker. It's very obvious that we haven't seen dedicated Corey in a long time, probably (but hopefully we do) will never see dedicated Corey again. And yes, US definitely has the better gamblers of the two, but who's earning better cash? The gamblers that no one will play because they're stone cold champs or the euros that win tourneys?
 
I wouldn't care if they had Mike D again or anyone else that looked
like they actually wanted to be there.
I thought Buddy Hall needed a wake up call in his chair during the match.
If it was a swearing contest Rodney and Dennis would of shared the gold medal.

Get a group of guys that are hungry for the win and care about the result.
Also get a captain that doesn't have narcilepsy!!!!

Europe out numbers the USA almost 2.5 to 1

Seems better to have an equal talent pool.

Populations are:

314M - USA

740M - Europe

529M - North America

953M - The Americas
 
Whilst definitely skillful, one pocket and bank pool are novelty games

Melling would be favourite against Alex in Snooker and Darren Appleton would be favourite against anyone on the planet in 9 or 10ball.

DAZ is not a favorite over anyone, please stop it.
He's as big of a whine box as Earl.

DAZ is the best GYPSY player on the planet, no doubt. And he's favorite over all of them.
He's along way from a favorite over SVB, Alex, Orcullo, Biado, I'm not even sure he gets the cash over the senior tour players like Bustamante and Earl.

Who's earning better cash?
Probably Josh Roberts and John Hager to name a few.

Then if you want to include tourney and gamblers, SVB, and all the top pinoys.
 
but the Mosconi Cup is a completely different dynamic than 1-on-1 "for the cash".
i would probably fancy Earl against any of the Euro players in a race to 100 - but thats not the game.

I do hope USA has a shake-up and has a real good go at it next year. sure, they took a beating. but they will come back

The format is the Mosconi cup. Short races. No gambling. Team USA can't win. Team Europe didn't even field their best team. The worlds number 1 player was left off the roster.

That said, the ONLY chance America might have is if Barry Hearn handicaps team Europe by mandating they can only field their team from juniors (18 and under). Against Americas top players, then its a pick-em.

It's simple. 20 years ago we were ahead of the curve and couldn't care less who Europe brought. Now if we want to assure that dominance we need to play Africa or Australia or Antarctica. Certainly not Europe or Asia. Pool is just reflecting the rest of our country's general downward direction. We used to be bad ass, now we're just bad. Our egos haven't got the memo yet but they will.
