Tell me about this Joss jump cue please.

I just picked this up at a pawn shop. Can anyone give me any info on this, I have not seen one before?

I had a couple cues with that same design and when I talked to Dan Janes he said they had no model number, they just called them "break cues". I have never seen a jump cue with the same design on it. He also told me the slanted letters (on the break cues) represent the shaft moving fast during breaking. I know he only made a few of the full cues and I think it was sometimes around the early to possible mid 90s. I would say there are very few jump cues like that out there. Is that the shaft that came with it?

I still have a joss jump butt that I purchased at the SAME time as my first Joss cue.

Unfortunately the butt with a standard shaft would no longer meet the minimum cue length requirement. I think it measures 38 1/2 inches.

I never saw one like that. I have one of the jump cues. As was stated, they don't meet the length requirements anymore.

It looks like a jump cue with a piece added to make it legal length to me.

When I first saw the picture I thought it was a JOSS jump cue with a piece added to make it legal. Years ago that's exactly what I thought of doing with mine.

$TAKE HOR$E: I never saw the break cues with that design, only the jump cues. I used to have a magazine clipping of the ad where they were selling the jump cues. I think it was in Billiards Digest. I lost the clipping though.


I don't have a good pic of mine but you can see it here to the left in my case, I ordered it with no stain and it's made from a real nice piece of birds eye. As I remember they came standard with a red stain.
