If there's no Glen Miller, I'm not coming.Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart?
I heard a lot of Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones at the pool hall I first played at.

I'm pretty sure I saw Gape do the "stanky leg" as they say. he had a "certain look" in his eyes.
Played most of my pool with music, from laid-back jazz to death metal. As long as it isn't ear-bleed loud i prefer tunes to dead quiet. We won a pretty nice stack in a Dallas titty-bar with thumpin' 80's rock and half-naked chicks everywhere. We were tippin' 'em to make their 'assets' quite visible on the other guy's turn. Hey, whatever works on the road.I prefer music in a multi-table setting. If there is no background music, it is too easy to be distracted by any quiet conversation near your table.
It'll only be okay if Doug or Augie is singing.Freddie Fender’s conjunto stuff with Flaco Jimenez on the accordion might run afoul of the OP’s preferences. Dunno. Just a guess.
I was there Saturday and Sunday. No distractive music. Easily distracted? What about spectators walking around the room? I am for zero music myself. A lot of what is called music is not music at all. It is vulgar narrative and yes, it is annoying. What's up with the music at the Texas Open 9b championship? I come here 2 get in the mood & compete. The foreign stuff they play is throwing me off my game. Even the great Gape Owin (2004 US open champ) looked like he was distracted he kept missing and basically running around confused. This is not the environment I want my kids playing in. This is America.
Who really cares??
