Texas Open 9b Open Exotic Foreign Music

What's up with the music at the Texas Open 9b championship? I come here 2 get in the mood & compete. The foreign stuff they play is throwing me off my game. Even the great Gape Owin (2004 US open champ) looked like he was distracted he kept missing and basically running around confused. This is not the environment I want my kids playing in. This is America.
 
I guess some just don't appreciate real music. When we was coming up we had Dora Hand, Lew Bloom, Richard Pelham to name a few. My first round opponent wouldn't even let me blast my gramophone to drown out the stuff from the venue. It's so distracting. Next to us, Gape was flipping his wig trying to figure out how to rack the balls. He had the tortoise-rack upside down! FACEPALM. I couldn't believe it.

I think he has a point. They just don't make performers like Pelham any more. Or when they do, they get cancelled pretty fast. I'm looking at you, Justin Trudeau.

well i dont think they should play any music. why on earth do that. everyone has a different taste in music and many want quiet when they are playing or at least no music.
i know many of the current people cant go five minutes without music coming in their ears.
with streaming and ear phones people if want music or whatever they can do it in private.

however if anything is throwing you off your game you have a problem that needs correcting or give up competition.

I prefer music in a multi-table setting. If there is no background music, it is too easy to be distracted by any quiet conversation near your table.
