Raphael Martinez 1st
CJ Wiley 2nd
Joe Villapondo 3rd
Shane Waltrip 4th
All i can remember at the moment, paid 16 places.
CJ getting the cash.
Not bad for a guy who never plays.
Congrats mr Wiley.
Thanks, the tournament was a lot of fun. The CLICKS PARADISE pool room is very impressive, and the cocktail servers are......well.....let's just say "it's paradise" for sure.
Rafael Martinez played incredible, and it did come down to the last game where I had a fluky scratch trying to make an aggressive break out on the 4 Ball.....Congratulations to Rafael and "Lil Shane" for a fantastic event....I'll make sure to put it on my schedule for next time.![]()
The tournament was run very professionally, thanks to all that participated and the spectators were very hospitable.....Sat. night had to have over 200 people in the building.....it was more like the "good ole days" with all interest shown in Corpus Christi Texas.
Aloha

Rapael did play great, and that was some tough luck on the scratch. You thanked lil" Shane for a great tournament, but it was Greg Sparkman who put together this tournament. Shane was a big part of it, and I know you and Greg got a little agitated with each other, but it was Greg who let you in the tournament when Shane didn't want you in. So while you thank Shane, you really should thank Greg also. If it wasn't for him there would never have been a tournament. He deserves a lot of respect for all the hard work and effort he put in to make this one of the best tournaments we have seen here in a long time. I know everybody had a great time, and we got to see some incredible pool. Can't wait for the next one!!!

Hello,
Can you please elaborate on "Shane didn't want you in" Can one person say you can't get in and you're out? With that field it's tough to win for whoever makes it through.
CJ was late. the instructions called for a players meeting @ 09:00. He didn't show up until closer to 12:00.

The problem as I understand it, the tournament was full and CJ was not in it. They were halfway thru the calcutta when he showed up wanting to get in. The picks of the litter were already done, So another player offered to give up his spot so CJ could play, but since he would have been one of the picks, several players thought it was unfair to let him in at that point. It was almost 12 when he showed up. It wasn't that Shane didn't want him to play, it was about what was fair. Greg allowed him to play and everything turned out fine. Great tournament!
