Hi all, thought I'd share this, SVB is 8/1 with William for the Masters, fresh from a win, get on, there offering 1-2 1/2 odds

I do have to question the odds makers at William hill.

Why is Mika the favourite? This year is his best since the "beast" years of 08/09 but nothing like back then.

I know SVB is a bit funny when it comes to playing outside of the US but 8/1 are great for him. Daz is without doubt the favourite and he's 7/1

I've gone for money on Shane or Daz to win. I like the idea of the match betting too

Yea it is a great bet for Daz especially as he is a proven world champion. Decent bet on svb too at 8/1 definitely worth a punt. the people at william hill know whats going on there not idiots. they know svb's arese goes like 20 pence piece whenver he gets out the tar studio, and not good playing with no fans.

Daz is even that much better of a player with your nose stuck to his butt :-) Maybe the extra weight helps to keep him still when he shoots.

Seriously, you need to chill out on the Daz love and the the Shane hate. It's unbecoming.

Isn't this event an invitational single elimination? If so then anyone can win it.

I hope Shane puts 10k on himself to win it.

I am certain if Daz would like to play Shane a race to 100 in 10 ball on just about any table any where that Shane would be willing. Just ask him he is easy to find on FB.

Just curious, can you actually do that?
I'd think the usual disclaimer "employees, players and tournament officials are barred" blah blah etc.
...at the same time if it's all online, you could probably make a workaround.

What is the format of the tournament? They probably do the 3balls pass the head string rule like at the worldcup?

I don't see why you can't bet on yourself to win something.

IIRC the year Alex won the 9 Ball WC he placed a large bet on himself at some pretty hefty odds.

No need to ask Shane, I can tell you he will play DAZ at just about ANY game, on just about any table. (no snooker basically.) DAZ is great in tournaments, but if he isn't on a hot streak, he is an underdog to Shane.

DAZ is smart, he's not looking to match up with Shane playing 10b anytime soon. He's a great guy, but 9Ball and shorter race format is what he's going to need, maybe more than that even.

All the best,

Justin

No disrespect to Daz but.... In a race 100 in 10b Shane could give him a ball and I would still bet on Shane

There is a easy enough work around for that if you can't, just have someone else place the bet for you.

Actually, Shane and Darren should both be at lower odds and ought to be co-favorites. Thing is, though, that if form holds, they will play each other in the second round.

Are you kidding? All thatr I read is howq svb is best on planet earth and he hasnt won close to what daz has. plus daz only being played american pool like 7 years how does that even compare? and no I am not saying daz is better than svb but i think hohmann orcullo daz svb there is a ball hair if anything between them.

now you are syain race to 100 10b then yes i bet shane too but when is ther a tourmanet that plays that format? is every tournament in the tar studio? no and no going out preparing for tournament swith presure of tv and fans etc is what being a top pro is an svb has simply not proven that to a point above the levels reached by daz an mike for example. not sayin he can't do it but he hasn't yet so therefore you all need to cool down on the svb love as i know he is the american pie but please try and be more open minded and objective.

Was the US Open 9 ball tournament held in the TAR studio? Damn, they've really upgraded!!!

You OBVIOUSLY have no clue. Shane has been number ONE on AZ money list for like 3 years. He wins A LOT of tournaments. As far as stacking up to to Daren, if they play on US soil, Shane is hands down favorite. The line is going to be Shane 1.5-1 minimum, against almost ANYONE.

Daz is good, and he's done a lot in pool, but RIGHT NOW, Shane will eat him alive in most games. I like DAZ, and with a hot hand he can take off almost anyone. At this very moment, I'm not sure I would put DAZ in my top 5 world wide. Mine would be Shane, Busty, Dennis O., Alex P., and my 5th would be a toss up amoung Lee Van, Hoemann, Can, KPY, Biado. >>>I don't like betting on DAZ against ANY of these guys.

SVB is too tough to fade for almost anyone when he's rolling the way he is right now.

.

This year alone, Shane has made 90k more in tournament winnings. The only thing Daz has that Shane probably wants is a WPC title. Plus Shane has only been on the pro pool scene for 7 years as well.

I think if you were to total up the 1st place finishes from both of them and total prize money Shane would have more... not to mention all the action he came out on top in during that time.

Can nobody on here read? yes I think Daz is awesome, is he better than svb right now i dont know it would be a toss up in my opion determining on the game. SVB has not won WPC title, yea he is high on the money board , good for him he plays lots of tournaments and does well. But to be the best player on earth. Up there with earl in his prime Daz, mika and efren he has not proved that yet is all i am saying.

Of course we can read. Of course Shane has proved it. Efren did not win a world championship until 1999. And yet he was still dominant and feared for the entire 16 years he had been on the scene since 1984.

And of course Shane is not the Best player in the world, no one is. Until there is a consistent tour with a clear rank list no one can be the best because conditions are far too diverse.

I will give you the fact that tournaments force players to bring their A game because there is no second chance. Ralf Souquet told me that. He said in his opinion tournaments are tougher for this reason.

Shane though has his share of hardware against the world's top players. He is considered by his peers to be one of the very best and you can bet no one including Daz likes to Shane's name across from theirs at any event.
