I just received the Steady Rest Chuck built. Mine was the HF version.
Anyone who has a mini lathe of any type(and who doesn't) - you WANT one of these.
It is a well thought out, and well executed jig that I am sure has potential for much more than just preventing the back end of a shaft going balistic.
I am all inspired to launch off into tinker mode, which ironically, the desire to avoid that phase was the main rationale for buying one from Chuck.
No regrets...
