Thank You Deno

Hi Deno,

I just wanted to let you know that I think the IPT event in Orlando was truly a first class operation and far above any expectations that I had as a spectator.

Just thinking about all that had to go into coordinating this event is mind boggling. And then to have everything run so smoothly, and right on schedule, is truly amazing. How you, and your team, were able to pull it off is beyond me. Kevin sure did pick the right man when he picked you.

Just to keep 43 truly large egos in check was astonishing. Even good old Earl was on his best behaviour.

The poster is first class and will long be cherished. As will be the program that you passed out for free. I'll bet that cost a bundle to produce becuse it sure was first class. I never saw so many people going around getting the players to sign their autographs as at this event. Having the pictures and bio of every player in the program was truly outstanding.

Having 6 computers on-line and available was great.

I can honestly say that I heard no complaints about the event and everyone I knew thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Looking forward to February.

Jake

Yeah Jake I have to agree with you on all accounts. It was well run and I had a great time. I was only able to stay till Friday due to having my finale in Ocala but I really enjoyed it. Wish I'd had a chance to meet you while I was there.
And Deno did a great job with it all. He kept everything running smooth. And yes Earl was on good behavior. I thought all that went on was absolutly what this industry needs.
I am excited to find out when the next event is.

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I had a great time and thought that the players and the fans were spectacular. I can't wait until the next event.

the comments are always deserving and given when something like this goes right. and someone like you does that good job, hope you had a little fun also while you were there. keep up the good work.............................................mike

Can't say enough about all the work and effort put forth on behalf of the players and fans to make this a first class production. We all know that most of the work was in the preparation and behind the scenes to produce a flawless event. Everyone who was there and those that have just heard about it are excited to attend the next one. Next time, though, I want the private tour and party later, like Marissa. lol

It is all due to appropriate application of the principles of Buisiness operation.
Good post jake.

Thanks Timberly,

Don't worry, next time I will give you the grand tour and treatment :) We are about having fun and supporting the game. Let's all be nice to each other and watch the IPT grow and prosper. Many of us tend to get too involved in these forums and when we meet each other in person we all tend to be really nice and fun.

Deno

You mean it is possible to get a grander tour and treatment than we all received? My heart wouldn't be able to handle it.

It seems that Timberly takes things too seriously and spends her money in the wrong places.

I forgot to mention the lovely hostesses. What modeling agency did you find them at? They looked like HH's girls. And were those dresses they wore designer dresses?

I like to think that everyone was given the royal treatment :)

As far as the hostesses, I don't know which agency they came from. I got to train them as far as billiard etiquette (which was really fun). Also, their dresses were custom made for the event and the dress maker was on site each day.

JJ, I was spending my money supporting the UPA tour by going to their tournaments, before there was an IPT. I don't consider that spending my money in the wrong place.

You poor guy, with all you have to do. It doesn't seem fair.
If you want I will take over the next training class for you. How much would I owe you?

Like I said, you were spending your money at the wrong places.

What has the UPA ever done for the fans? In fact they turned on the fans. Shut up, sit down, and don't bother the high and mighty pros for an autograph, is/was their policy. I sure am not going to spend any money where I am treated like dirt. Besides, we have the Florida Pro Tour here where I got to see the same players. Along with their friendly side. And now we have the IPT.

See, there is a God.

You still don't get it. <shaking head> I'm not nor was I a UPA cheerleader by any means. There were plenty of things that I didn't/don't like about it. HOWEVER, it was the ONLY thing out there as far as a men's pro tour. I wasn't trying to support the UPA, I was supporting men's pro pool. You live in FL & you have the 10 ball tourney, YAY for Jake. I live in PA & we don't have anything. So, in order to see pool at the pro level, I had to go to UPA tourney's. Something is better than nothing.... the UPA might not be perfect but at least it provided us with a few tournaments a yr that had more pro caliber players than anything else out there. I also try to support the regional tours by going to as many Tiger Planet Pool tourney's that I can go to. They're out of the MD, VA, DC area but I drive out to support them & the pool rooms that welcome them as much as possible. There are some really good players on that tour & you're subject to see Shawn Putnam & Mike Davis there at any time. BUT, those tourney's still aren't full of pro caliber pool players. Now that the IPT is here, I can spend my money going to that, so long as all of them aren't in Vegas... I have a mon-fri job & I have to support myself.

I'm a fan of pool. I'm not a fairweather fan. I'll support it as best as I can to help keep it around. UPA, Regional tours, IPT...that's a fan. Picking & choosing because one organization hurt your feelings... that's fairweather. The players had no choice but to play under the UPA... you should've supported them but instead you turned your back on them because of something they had no control over. (I have no idea what you're talking about not being able to get autographs at a UPA tourney. The players are always walking around & have always been accessible at any tournament). Jake, you remind me of someone else on here that I made a post about that was deleted.... just like that person did with the IPT, you have talked bad about pool players, and now here you are, pool's biggest fan!

We're going to have to agree to disagree. I don't think you'll ever get it, and I'm not spending anymore of my time trying to explain myself & my actions to someone who, A) doesn't get it, B) has proven that they're two faced when it comes to the sport.

Ok, ok, you both got me. In fact, I will give Timberly the grand tour. Hmmm, maybe not a good idea, having an Asian give tours - Timberly, make sure to bring your camera! lol :D

Hey, at least I won't be driving.
