I am having my 4th Annual NYC 9Ball Championships on August 29th and 30th. I have been trying to get Mike Howerton to post it up on AZBilliards these past couple weeks. Mike told my the flyer was in the wrong file format. At the same time Mike Andrews is emailing me about hosting one of his Team Dmiro events. I sent Mike Howerton the flyer in the format he asked and never posted it up. So today I read about Team Dmiro's first event being held on same dates I'm holding my event about 15 minutes away from Skyline and Mike Howerton is involved helping them with their website. So I guess letting me know earlier was out of the question. So all I want to say is THANKS GUYS!! I appreciate the courtesy of checking the local tournament dates to make sure you don't conflict with other tournaments. Thanks not telling me they stealing my dates and that you had no intentions of post my flyer Mike Howerton. All you had to do was tell me what was going on and I would have just accepted it.

P.S. Mike Howerton..... Ban me if you want. After seeing how things go here I really don't care.
Mike Andrews.... I don't think Skyline Billiards is interested in hosting one of you event anymore. I still gonna run my tournament. I'm not changing my dates. We have loyal players that know I run tournaments that don't rob the players.

Thanks Guys

I understand your frustration but inferring that someone else is robbing players is bad form. imo.

Kind of like NCS holding an major event the same weekend as the Joss 9 Ball Tour Turning Stone event. There are only so many "Pro's" out there to support only so many tournaments. Mike's been on the schedule for that weekend since July 2008. I understand the spatial difference between locations but still, how many players is each event going to lose? I would have played in both the eight ball and ten ball events had the dates not conflicted. There are probably a lot of players in my position. It appears to me too many people are jockeying for the position of pool god. Still too many events where we play for each others entry fees! Thanks Oneida Nation for making Mike's event possible.

Yeah, the NYC Championship has been running 4 years now and has had great turn outs. I'm not sure why they would make their tournament the same dates. It doesn't make much sense.

Winner 06' Stalev
Winner 07' Neils
Winner 08' Fransico Bustamente

I hope this years field is as strong and as big as always. Can't wait to play and I expect Spidey to make the trip.

Well I'm not aiming it at anyone. Just saying I run a legit tournament is all.

Ok. It is just the last thing said in a rant directed at two people. I don't think anyone ever questioned if you run a legit tourney at all. It makes you wonder why you felt the need to point it out. That's all.

We had 4 or 5 different tourney's last weekend here in Phoenix and they all survived. Phoenix has about half the amount of people that NY does. I hope you have a great event.

Per our private e-mail together, I stated I set that date in June, you said you set your date two months ago. I checked around and look at the tours in the area and checked az's tournament calendar. The reason we chose that date, is because the weekend before is Turning Stone, and the weekend before that, is a Predator 9 Ball Event. I saw nothing at the time scheduled after Turning Stone so we choose that date and set it.

I am however, truly sorry that we have conflicting dates. I said to some of the other tours across the country that we did not want to conflict with anyone. I just didn't see your event anywhere on the internet before I set our event. Let's just hope for the best and I think we both will have good turnouts. If I max out entrys I will make sure I tell the players about your event, and get them to you. I hope if you max out you will do the same, since you are doing 64 Max.

Sorry again.

well Im sorry for the thread. I got fustrated cause it was hard to figure the date in the first place and when I saw your thread thanking mike howerton for helping with the website I got the impression that he is not posting my flyer up because of your tour and I also feel he could have let me know that you had that date since he was hands on. I had the date figured 2 months ago and its been posted on the Blaze Tour website and the Blaze schedule for some time now.

Whats done is done. Its just too bad that both our tournaments are gonna lose players to eachother and woulda been nice to have full fields in both.

If both tournaments lose players to each other then it's a wash. Maybe you should consider hitting the phones and letting the weaker players know that both tournaments are likely to be softer with the pros split between them and now would be the time to come and play. Surely to God there has to be 128 players in the Tri State are to fill up two tournaments.
