Thanks to JoeyA

last time ....

The last time I was there all Joey gave me was directions to get back to the highway . I ended up at some housing project called the Calliope and was held up by the Cutt boys ...backatown. I told them I knew Joey A and that he sent me there , they all backed off and said oh ,Joey with a tie :sorry::sorry:
But seriously Joey is a pool icon in New Orleans and rightfully so .I'm looking forward to my next trip down to see Joey A. and of course Lock n Load.

Oh great! Now I'm getting dozens of PMs requesting a list of all of my favorite restaurants and if I am available for chauffeur duty when they come into town. ;)

Like Mikjary and others, I don't spend quite as much time posting on AZB these days. I seldom spend much time looking in the Main Forum for new threads but this afternoon I did a little looking around and saw this one. Most of my time is keeping up on subscribed threads but I have to admit to some serendipity when looking at the new threads this afternoon.

Williebetmore is a highly intelligent guy with a wonderful perspective of life and the pursuit of happiness and loves pool almost as much as I do. His ability to communicate the finer points of poolology to a ball banger like me helped enthuse me about the sport even more than I already am.

I'm glad you passed my way.

My son was very happy to meet one of the authors who wrote the book, Play Great Pool and one of the many good friends that I have been so lucky to meet through my association with pool. Just a couple of hours before I gave my son his signed book, I shared with him one of the "SECRETS" that Don shared with me about my own game and he remarked after having an exceptional night of playing pool that he "loved" the technique as Don had explained and demonstrated to me and that it had an immediate positive impact on his game.

To the other posters in this thread, thank you for your kind sentiments and I mean that sincerely.

..........

Don,

It was a pleasure meeting and playing a couple of sets with you. I can't wait to read the book which I know will go down in our hobby as one of the best "textbooks" on pool. Let Joey and I know when you plan on rolling through town again.

By the way, the sushi was from a new restaurant that moved into the Little Tokyo location. Joey would know the name.

JA,
Well....no one feels sorry for you....it is the price you pay for being good at it :-). No....I misspoke....it is the price you pay for being GREAT at it.

I will continue to use your service until you take me someplace with bad food....it is the burden of greatness :-).
