That Darn Draw Shot

Gotcha Whitey..could be right too,I'd have to read it again to be sure...

But to run 15 racks without a draw stoke?!I don't think 8 hours will yield that result...jmho....but I aint seeing it.

Possible though I guess.....

So how did you manage to run 15 racks a few weeks ago if you are still struggling with this shot?

simple........i never had the long, straight in draw shot to contend with.

and some nights i am adept at that shot, some nights i aint. tonight, after i ran through the Mother Drills, i practiced this shot again. and pretty much sucked at it.

bcf...Just so you know...NOBODY can control the CB...EVER!   That's right...you cannot control the CB! What you CAN control is the piece of wood in your hand...and with that piece of wood, you can only control 3 things...angle, speed, and spin (cover your A.S.S.)! :D

No big deal about follows stops or whatever but it's always been fascinating about draws. Against the law of nature when the ball spins backwards. If I'm not wrong I recall a super pro Kuo or Efren can't remember, who mentioned that ultimately we want to get the ball react the way we want it to be and not worry too much about dropping elbows. (within discipline of course)

Personally I'm still subconciously aware about my elbow from time to time. I don't think that's good anyway.

whitey2...I was with Mike the day after this "feat". He did not run 15 racks in a row, and didn't really say so. He said he ran 15 racks. He played MANY games that day to accomplish running 15 racks. :D

I believe it was not 15 racks in a row that he ran. The 15
was total for the day or (long) session. I remember reading
that post and initially getting the same idea, and saying to
myself "What?". Then in sank in.

Anyway...

Yeah you certainly got that right..

Not too sure about other peoples' A.S.S-es but I lose my A.S.S every now and then and I've been trying very hard, very very hard, exceptionally hard, extraordinarily hard to cover my A.S.S all the time..

Wait, I'm not clear. Are you saying you ran 225 balls, or that you ran 15 racks separately throughout the night. 225 would be strong. Since you didn't say 225, I'll assume it was the 15 racks. Good job, all you have to do now is string them. :-P

I didn't read every post in the thread but if it's really 15 racks in a row, then it's no longer a normal scorpion but king scorpion.

no worries spider. still getting some slightly harsh vibes tho =)

I really hope they don't sift instructional posts out of the main forum. The last interesting thing you read was maybe months or years ago, but I personally learned some new stuff just a few hours ago. I feel this stuff is part of the 'meat' of the forum. The stuff you consider the meat is also pretty interesting, and I don't want to have to go fishing in a separate forum for any of these things.

Guys... DCP doesn't practice a bangers game like 9ball. He is playing a more advanced game that most do not know about. It will soon enough reach the mainstream. The public is just not ready for it yet. It will take over as the game of choice on TV. Its way faster paced than the painstakingly slow 9ball.

The game is called 1 BALL! You think 1 pocket requires a lot of strategy? You haven't seen anything until you've seen 1 ball. It's racked similar to 9 ball except the back 8 balls are removed only leaving the 1 ball on the spot. This alleviates any rack controversies as well. No more nitpicking by the "pro's". No soft breaks either! Sorry Corey Deuel... You'll have to grow a pair. You think breaking a rack of 15 is hard... try 1! You really have to juice it up. Follow thru is paramount.

This is the game DCP plays. And I think his run of 15 racks is much for difficult than that guy Mosconi's. Quite possibly DCP's run will never be matched.

:D j/k DCP
