The only one I can think of are jump shots where you have to hit a ball in the air or roll over top of it. Not supper common but can come up. It's more of a trick shot but sometimes...![]()
Good ideas. I'll add them to the follow-up video list.

I just posted a new video that demonstrates every type of pool shot possible
That didn’t age well![]()
Regardless, great video.
Loving your content lately.
That was a purposeful exaggeration for "click bait."
- Lag shot at the start of the matchThanks!
Does anybody have any ideas for shots I should have included but didn't? I am putting together a list for a follow-up video.
It kind of pisses me off that YouTubers use such flagrant clickbait titles even for mediocre videos. I try to keep things honest, but I too embellish at times.Work the system, baby!
Intentional fouls or caroming in an opponent’s corner pocket hanger, leaving the cue ball in the jaws of the pocket might be worth its own topic. It doesn’t come up at the pro level since they can all shoot their way out of it, but down here in the slums (Fargo 450 to 550 range) it can be highly effective. In particular if you’re 90%+ to give up ball in hand anyway you might as well make their runout harder- Lag shot at the start of the match
- Purposeful foul by pushing or pocketing opponents ball for safety purposes
- Timing shot (e.g where you hit an OB very thin so it travels in front of a pocket, then come back off 1 rail to pot it)
- When playing under a shot clock, shooting an easy stop shot with maximum side to get extra time (10-20 seconds typically depending on how well you do it and depending on the table conditions etc.) to think about the rest of the rack, since the shot clock doensn't start until the ball stops spinning.
- A safety where you softly hit straight towards an OB that is near the rail, such that the CB just barely touches it straight and stays there, leaving no direct pot for the opponent, and no bank if it worked well enough:

The only shot that pops to mind that I did not see was the shot where you are dead straight in on the end rail and your next ball is on the other end rail....Hop up off the OB into the air making the CB come down half on half off the end rail sending it down table for shape on the ball on the other end rail.
99 are critical. Some guy called Ray says there are only 99 critical shots in pool. Is there one more shot that isn't critical?![]()
dr. dave
you get another A on your report card.....
great video
I think you stay within the bounds of good taste! It kind of pisses me off that YouTubers use such flagrant clickbait titles even for mediocre videos. I try to keep things honest, but I too embellish at times.
I do like the strategy of intentional fouls, you are giving up a huge penalty so the strategic move must be very strong. They definitely spice up the game.Intentional fouls or caroming in an opponent’s corner pocket hanger, leaving the cue ball in the jaws of the pocket might be worth its own topic. I’ll try to come up with good examples for the follow-up video.
Outstanding as usual. love the fast pace of this one. The only way this one gets any better IMO is if you had overlaid your voice saying the shot type. I noticed if I looked up to read the shot type, some of the shots were fast enough that I missed the setup of the balls prior to you hitting the shot. Not really a complaint, as it’s simple enough to back up or pause. Thanks again for the free education![]()
