The 2007 DCC "St. Louis" Louis Roberts Action and Entertainment Award Voting

As we did last year and hopefully for every year to come, spectators from the internet billiard forum community, members of the AZBilliards, CCBoard, InsidePOOLmag.com and the OnePocket.Org forums will have the opportunity to vote for the upcoming 2007 Derby City Classic Louis Roberts Action and Entertainment Award.

This award goes to the person that is deemed to exemplify the meaning of action and entertainment throughout their attendance at the 2007 Derby City Classic. It could be as a player, backer, woofer, or all of the above. So make sure you pay attention to the action. If you don't know who or what you're watching, ask someone.

Last year, we had a couple of dozen forum participants cast their votes. We hope to see even more spectators this year putting collective their $.02. Last year, we tried to use a ballot box. This year, we're scrapping the ballot box in favor of e-mail voting.

About the Louis Roberts Award

Have fun and I hope to see everyone in Louisville for the greatest pool and billiard experience on earth!

Regards,

Fred Agnir

The idea is you have to be there, right?

I am assuming that in order to vote, you have to have actually been there in Louisville for at least a day or so, correct? It wouldn't be quite as meaningful if you could stay at home and vote :)

I was just curious, do you have a plan for how to verify that so-and-so voter was actually there?

While we are at it, here is last year's Louis Robert's Award page on OnePocket.org:

my pick

As far as the first weekend goes, Tony Coleman/Scooter goodman/ Jon Hennesse are the front runners in my opinion. And Tony Chohan

I was at the DCC from Thursday to Sunday afternoon. All I can say is WOW! I will be going back again next year and plan on staying at least a week. I'm going to try my hardest to get a few guy's from my area in Los Angeles to come with me they love to gamble and would have the time of their lives. From what I saw the few days that I was there I would give my vote to Cliff Joyner or Scott Frost they were always in action especially Cliff. I even saw Sarah Rousey in action she's a great palyer! Yesterday afternoon I got to see Billy Palmer from Sacramento playing one pocket (he's an incredible player!), he 's my dark horse pick in the 1 hole tournament. Peace.

My mind is made up

Scooter Goodman is the winner of this award. If he does NOT win it this year, this award is all about politics and politics only.

I agree

I won't be at DCC untill tommarow, but I know how Scooter rolls, he is always in the action. He has been trying to win this award for years, should have won it last year. My vote is for Scooter.

My goodness. I can't have you saying that. How can you still say that???? The award is voted on by YOU GUYS!!! The forum members. If it's all about politics, then you should blame the voters since it's all forum voting. If you continue to say it's all politics, then I'm taking that you are personally accusing me of fixing the vote. Do you really want to make it look like you're accusing me of that?

Cast your votes just like I've said. You e-mail me your vote(s). The votes speak for themselves. Nobody does anything with those votes but me. I tally them just like MVP voting, and the votes say who won. PERIOD.

As I said, last year, the guy I voted for didn't win. And I do the vote tallying!

1. Bartram
2. "Def Jam" ( shane van boening)

There are others that have gambled alot...but these two were the only two that are definitrly not up to anything SHADY. You always know it is a staright forward game when they play! You have no "funny" stuff to worry about.

I was there for 4 days on 1-4 to 1-8 and say alot of talking on Scooter's behalf mostly from him. The kids got alot of heart and plays pretty sporty too. But you have to weed out the BS he talks and compare that with those who actually woof and play. That IMHO would have to be Hennessee. He played big names for a substantial amount. That's my take and I will email it in also.

Is this "award" based on actual games played for cash or just alot of hot air being blown around....Lets see the list of cash games played, with whom they are played with and amounts of money involved.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What tour. were you guys at? Looked like Little John or Chris Bartrum to me. Scooter sure doesn't remind me of St. Louis Louie. Louie Roberts was a hell of a player subject to beat any body for any amount. Scooter is only a minor league shortstop at best.

The award is for action and entertainment, scooter has provided both. Chris bartrum has been in action but is the exact opposite of entertaining. Little john is both , but hasnt been in nearly as much action as scooter.

You hit the nail on the head!!! Most people don't have a clue as to your refence of shady!!! Think about it! If you talk more than three diifferent people to stake three differnent games and lose all three !!??? He is entertaining and truly a SALESMAN to say the least but I wouldn't bet a nickel on any of his action!!!

My vote is for Lil JON ,
He has more nerve and cool under fire than any pool player I've ever meet in twenty years!!! He lackes true talent but has more heart and gamble than all the others. I think he is through his shady years and looks k=like he is doing well! He gets my vote
