The Art of One Pocket

I’m somewhere between a one pocket player and not a one pocket player lol. Been playing casually the last year but I am really starting to like the game. Trying to watch videos of the older players who move first instead of firing away like some of these younger guys.
OK, I will send you a review copy -- as long as you agree to give it a decent study and post a review for our fellow AZB community

Message me your mailing address -- quick or I might send it to the junior player lol. :D

:D

Message sent. Will definitely do a review. Thank you very much

A parent of a junior player messaged me — sounds like a potential good candidate to me, but they need to post here to be considered 😁😁
OK what the hell, 3 books 😁😁
One for an experienced player (mattb), one for someone on the earlier curve of playing the game (cookie man), and one for the junior player whose pop messaged me 😁😁 (need an address for that one)

If all works out that should be reviews from three different perspectives that should help your fellow AZ’ers decide if The Art of One Pocket is worth it for them 🤞🤞🤞

It's not clear on the order page, is the $69 version soft cover or hard cover?

Thanks

Very cool of you to do this, Steve. I hope it's a big success. (From what I've read here, I expect it will be)

I've played the game a few times, it interests me. Not a lot of opportunity in my room. I've enjoyed watching some of the higher level matches on YouTube.

It’s a premium quality soft cover. I made a point of getting the best quality paper and ink I could because as a photographer (and something like 35 of my player photos in the book) I wanted the photos to look their best.

There is no hardcover of the regular edition, but I did create a special onepocket.org member’s edition — same book content but almost 90 extra pages of photos — 120 members of onepocket.org, of which I took all but 7 at various different tournaments 😳 That edition is limited to 100 each, HC and SC. I shouldn’t have made it that confusing but I did lol.

I registered at onepocket.org a couple of years ago with the same user name as here, but I can't find my password. I think it was in an email at a mail site that closed its doors. I think I want to buy a Members edition, so I need to register again, but I am faced with this:

I have registration approvals sent for manual approval to try to keep the forum focused without too much junk. Course the problem with that is it might take me a little time to go approve the new sign ups. I’ll take care of yours as soon as I get home!

If you posted under the old user name at all that I can merge the two of you into your new user name 😁

Hey, thanks. I can't remember if I ever posted anything. I joined so I could learn about one pocket and look at diagrams/pictures that were posted in threads. I saw Tony Chohan play a match, and I was hooked.

Thanks for approving my registration. I purchased the Members version in hardcover.
Thank you! I think you'll be impressed with the substantiality of that version -- without opening it lol. It is a little larger format, plus with the extra member photo pages, that version weighs almost exactly double what the regular book weighs, even though the regular book has a substantial feel for a paperback! So if you end up turning your back completely on One Pocket, you could probably use it as a small boat anchor :ROFLMAO:

Of course I hope you like the content too
It will go out tomorrow...
:)

I haven't tried logging into onepocket.org in many years, this rattled my cage about that a little, so I thought I ought to try it.

My username and password still worked! (or at least I remembered the right ones) ;)

I'll send out two books -- one book to someone who is interested in One Pocket but isn't really a One Pocket player -- yet. And the other book to someone who is a One Pocket player.

Whoever is interested, please nominate yourself and let me know which camp you most fit, and I will pick two of you.

Thank you!
I fit in the not a one pocket player camp, if you haven't found anyone yet. I've only played an experienced 1p player once, and lets just say it didn't go well. But I came up with a lot of things to work on for 1p so it wasn't a total loss. spot shots, getting 2 balls to your corner in one shot, etc...

Just buy the book.
I can't believe all the people wanting free copies because they don't play the game or want to get better.
It's a small price to pay and you wont get rid of a book like that.

Thank you, but to be fair, I am the one that offered the free review copies, which I did because there didn't seem to be any particularly complete reviews here on AZB yet. But I have now already picked two AZ members from the posts above, and those books are packed and on the way. I don't have an address yet for the junior player, but they get one too if they message me an address. :)
