The Art of One Pocket

I’m somewhere between a one pocket player and not a one pocket player lol. Been playing casually the last year but I am really starting to like the game. Trying to watch videos of the older players who move first instead of firing away like some of these younger guys.

Please put me in for consideration. I too view myself somewhere in the middle. I have been interested for a while and started playing when possible about a year ago. We have a group of us playing weekly with occasional small tournaments in an area that didn’t have much one pocket.

Wait, I’m a one pocket player! But with only a limited FSU education and the attention of a, umm, what were we talking about?

Not a one pocket player....yet. Maybe your book turns me into one.
Would love to read and review your book.
Do it as a swap. My book "Let YOUR Stroke Out" should be out next year. I review yours, you review mine ;)

i recommend it

I'll send out two books -- one book to someone who is interested in One Pocket but isn't really a One Pocket player -- yet. And the other book to someone who is a One Pocket player.

Whoever is interested, please nominate yourself and let me know which camp you most fit, and I will pick two of you.

Thank you!
I definitely fit your first definition. I've played two racks of 1p in my life. And I'm definitely interested in learning the game. So much so that I already ordered and received my book. I'm about 30 pages in so far and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm still happy to leave a review once I finish it. That might be a while because I like to practice what I learn as I go.

I've been trying to watch a lot of one-pocket lately, but have never played a game. I'm a new convert to American tables, after 15 years of snooker. Have been playing since December and learned an awful lot, and had some amazing experiences. I have been really lucky to meet and play some highly talented players.

Would love to give your book a read, and provide my honest thoughts about the game, it's instruction and advice.

Thanks for the consideration, and big respect to your dedication to the game :)

I just got into one pocket (played for 6 hours on saturday for the first time). Should I as a beginner buy this book or is it more geared towards more seasoned 1P players?

The first part of the book is absolutely geared to beginners (meaning decent pool players that are coming from other games).

Great offerings. I am still researching and the reviews all seem to be good. If chosen I will definitely do a review on it and post my thoughts.

Ok then you can be the experienced 1P player here on AZ to get a review copy on me! Just message me your mailing address & follow through with your review — no rush! 😁😁

Still need a new 1P player — but some good candidates here! I’ll pick one tomorrow for the other review copy 😁😁

A parent of a junior player messaged me — sounds like a potential good candidate to me, but they need to post here to be considered 😁😁

If juniors play one pocket they might qualify for senior discounts some places. It won’t get them social security or Medicare sooner though. 😜

( playing in a senior 8 ball event this year a young one pocket player was in the room. I asked if he was qualified for the tournament given his one-pocket honorary senior status)

It’s funny — at one time One Pocket might have been considered an old man’s game, but not any more!

Another interesting truth: 1P is so new to the European pool scene that you could NOT EVEN HAVE a “Senior” 1P tournament — nobody would qualify lol !!

You should tell the rest of the story.
