There's a new product on the market that fits in the palm of your hand. In mere seconds this device will reveal the exact impact point on the rail for any one rail bank shot, one rail kick shot, or two rail kick shot. Are you tired of coming up short on the bank? Do you ever attempt the impossible cut to avoid the bank or duck due to a lack of confidence? Are you tired of getting hooked and not knowing where to hit the rail? Or are you just tired of handing the cue ball to your opponent? Would one more good hit have made a difference in your recent tournament life? If you want to improve your banks and kicks check out this new iPhone App. It's the "Bank Shot Calculator". Use it on your favorite table, at your favorite bar or by the pool. Study the angles as often as you wish and start taking control of your matches. It won't cost a dime to check it out.

It’s the Bank Shot Calculator iPhone App, available on iTunes. Check it out at:

I invented it. I own the app. It's BCA approved as a training/teaching aid and it's so new the governing bodies haven't had to make a ruling. We went public with Apple in December. Now I'm trying to get the word out. Please check it out on the web sight. It works. 100% Math.

Hi Clyde,
Here in New Zealand, most do not have the diamonds on the tables.
How will it work in this case?
I have a phone with Android, when do you think you will have app for these phones?
Thanks, Neil

I just bought it. Pretty nifty. Very quick and intuitive to use and should be a useful and fun learning tool. I like the fact that it shows the equal-angle track and leaves it to me to visualize the actual ball path based on conditions (the app clearly advises that adjustments are necessary).

You're welcome to my 5 bucks.

Thanks PJ, enjoy. Neil, The device will show the impact point regardless. Each diamond is divided into 8 equal increments thirty two for you guys. The device will draw the line to the pocket not the diamond. It will be up to the player to interpret the impact point where the line crosses the rail.
Cheers all,
Clyde

Clyde,
While it certainly sounds like an interesting product; no disrespect intended; but this is a pool fanatics site. Successful banking doesn't depend on the math of "finding the correct spot": it depends on equipment conditions (condition of the balls, humidity, type of cloth, type of cushions, size of pockets, type of spin applied). The "correct spot" will be slightly different for every table, and can change day to day or even hour to hour. Most players here are aware of this.

Oversimplification of this complex area is common; and does much to discourage lower level players who are mystified when simple geometry or magic systems don't work for them reliably. I hope you are not promoting it as a magic/secret/cure-all.

Having said all of that, I do wish you luck with your venture. It sounds like an interesting app.

Williebetmore,
You should check out my web sight. I make no magic claims. I do however offer a starting point for those who can't see the angles. I think my explanations are quite through. You should read them. I think you will agree.

Cheers,

CE,
I wasn't able to access the website earlier; but have subsequently.

VERY professional disclaimer. I'll definitely buy one if it comes out for Droid. Good luck.

I just bought it, Lord knows I've bought plenty of crap and this seems like a pretty cool app to me.. It's at least a reference for those needing one..
