The best chalk

I've had this piece of masters chalk for probably 2yrs. now.
So you can see why I believe masters to be the best chalk in my eyes.
And it only cost me $.20...I've never had any miscuing problems or
it not sticking to my tip.
Now I have'nt tryed the new kamui yet (Im still trying to save up enough $ for a piece).
But if someone can post a picture of a piece of kamui that size I might be
enticed to put a little more $ in my sock drawer every month for 1pc.
(Oh wait kamui's that size brand new) So forget about it I'll stick to my masters! lol

Actually, Kamui chalk is much much bigger than that brand new. In fact, after using my piece daily for over a month, it is nearly the same size it was when it was brand new. I don't think you'll see a piece of that size for quite some time.

If you can keep a piece of chalk for two years, I think that Kamui chalk would be excellent for you. You should try it before you knock a superior product.

Yup.

And this 'joke' is wearing very thin now - enough already with knocking Kamui chalk - if you don't want it, don't buy it.

Believe me I won't be buying any kamui chalk!
I can't see paying $25 for a piece of chalk that
a $.20 piece of chalk will do.
Anyways this thread was started for FUN so
I'm sorry if I rubbed your chalk the wrong way!

Wow, I go through a piece of Masters in like a month, lol. Blue Diamond lasted a bit longer but, after I went through both of them, I went back to good old Masters. Kamui Chalk is $25 plus $4.95 S&H when it was for sale, it is great advertisement but, not for me. I'll wait until one of you guys leaves it on the table and then give it a try.:D I've heard from four people that it falls apart??? When I do mis-cue, it's not the chalk, it's me and a $100 piece of chalk wouldn't have helped me. Two years, WOW!

I haven't had this problem yet, just some little flakes that might fall off from the edge. I could see if you were brushing too aggressively that larger pieces could break off.

I'm sorry if I rubbed your chalk the wrong way!

I'll pass that on to it.

I've used other pieces of masters in the past 2yrs. also.
But have you ever seen a piece that small?
And really those pic's don't show it all, you'd have
to see it to belive how small it really is.
Hey maybe that would be good advertisment for masters.
You think that they'd send me a new box for the publicity?

Or maybe kamui would send me a cube to keep this Hush Hush.

this is a great thread, and great pic

Here is my contrubution

I had a great piece of Masters that was wore down real good like this one in this thread, it had walls on it but not a hole drilled into , it just wasnt flat. The wrapper was wore off, I have about 3 pieces like it, but this one was the best. It was a pre-flag piece that I been using for well over a year, since we play so much here we use lots chalk and this is the best of th best.

About once every 6 months i get pissed and miss a ball and throw the chalk at the pocket. Its a bad thing, its a reflex and seriously it only happens 2 times a year.

So what does my dumb ass do?, I throw my best piece of chalk I have had in years. I throw it and it splits in to 50/50 right down the middle. Its history.

the moral of the story is 2 things dont throw a great piece of chalk and Masters chalk is the best chalk, I have been using this Kamui in big action and made a thread about it, and the Kamui is good and work but Masters for the best for the $$$, all things considered.

Not to long ago i bought a box of masters and 1 piece didn't have the hole in the middle. It is hard to get a center hole started but this particular piece is the nutz. I think i paid about $400 for a dozen pieces.
The only time i miscue is my fault. Either i forget to chalk or i tried to put to much english on it.
Regardless, there is no way i am ever spending $25.00 for 1 piece of chalk.
Not that i can't afford it but its the principle.
There is no way i can justify to myself that a piece of chalk is worth that kind of money.
For the guys who buy it. Hope you all love it and it is all that.

Blue Diamond Chalk is certainly worth the extra money to me. $4 for the cube, won $1100 in singles in Vegas. Without a doubt when you are stroking a ball with alot of english Blue Diamond Chalk can be the difference between the tip holding onto the shot or a miscue. And that type of confidence in your tip allows you to play shots with more confidence and in turn leads to flat out playing better.

$4 vs $0.25 for a piece of chalk is moot, the Riviera charges me more then $4 for a single beer unless I go to the little convienece store they have there. People pay $4 for 4 warm up games before a match. $4 is insignificant.

$25 +S/H for a cube of chalk? That is getting up there, I would possibly be willing to take the chance but stories of the stuff falling apart and people still saying "well don't chalk too aggresively or it might shatter", I mean really? This is the elite chalk we are talking about, a piece crumbling into bits because you chalk a little too hard should "not" be an issue.

And I gotta say, Blue Diamond set a pretty bloody high bar and it is gonna be hard to be clearly better then Blue Diamond, and at $25 vs $4 you need to be CLEARLY better. From what I have heard so far Kamui has nothing on Blue Diamond and might be worse/more fragile. Blue Diamond is clearly better then Masters, but is Kamui clearly better then Blue Diamond? I have not seen anyone say clearly in objective terms that it is.

Nice pic's Wimpy.
Don't you just hate seeing a piece of chalk that
has a big hole going half way through it?
It turns my stomach!

You wouldn't believe how jealous people are of my chalk.
They want to break it in to lil ity bity pieces when they see it.
So I don't use it much in public anymore only for very
special occasions. And I never set it on the table.

But you would pay $35 per a cube?

That Masters chalk is cheap junk. My cue cost thousands of dollars and I only use the best Kamui tips, there's no way I'm rubbing that 16 cent a cube crap on my cue.

Please forgive me I dont want to hijack and ruin a great thread, but.... Did want to mention one thing while were talking chalk. I think the crumbling will stop soon as the sids of the Kamui get wore/crumbled down to the wrapper. The wrapper inst paper it's like plastic paper. The kind of plastic paper they use for $$$ in Knog Knog and on 50Baht ntes in Thailand. So it might hold up then. That wrappper isnt ever comming off, but it might brush the chalk off the tip, when I get there I'll start a new thread about it. I'm doing my best to review it accurately. I do suggest everyone try it. They put lots of effort into devloping it and supporting it-is healthey for pool and might encourage others to invent new things. we need to support out sport and teach the kids.

Blue Diamond is too blue and makes my hands sticky,

Im a Masters guy, I'm going to keep using the other stuff to learn about it, but I dont think after i'm done learning I'm switching to it, I have more pre-flag(not post flag with no flag printed on the wrapper, but the OLD stuff to last me forever). And thats where I'm gonna stay with. I do like the fact that Kamui did bring to market a new product thats completely different than anything I ever saw. Thats pretty cool. And People should try it and learn about it, I had to steal the piece I got from "Cotton" or I wouldnt have one.

Sorry to go off topic but were still talking chalk. and I love old wore down pieces. I had a collection of about 300 pieces I lost in a move, I picked them up at tournemnts after Efren, Ja, Earl, Seigal, Buddy would play in big tournments. I thought having chalk used by the champions was cool, I never marked them as to who used which piece, but I had them all. I hope in my mom's stuff I never unpack from when she moved to Vegas in 99 they came with her. They could be in one other spot. they have no proof or real value except to me. It was the chalk used by the gladiators in the heat of battle.<-----to me thats cool.:)

do for your shooting skills that a cube of masters won't do?
