The best true sneaky pete on the market today

I'm looking for a high quality sneaky pete. I already have a request out in the For Sale section, but I'm curious what people consider to be the best new sneaky on the market today. Needs to be pure sneaky, so no rings, inlays, identifying marks, etc. Should look just like a house cue with the least visible joint possible. Would be even better if it were slightly longer, like 59 inches.

Thanks for the input. I've seen some things out there on the websites, but they look awfully cheap. Maybe that's normal.

You can buy a 2-piece Valley. I think Players has some basic sneakies. My choice was just finding the house cue I liked the most and having it cut.

I really like that idea. Did you take it to a cue maker to have it jointed? I think that would be cool to have a nice Dufferin or something like that. Seems like most house cues are on the short side through (<58 inches?)

i will not say the answer i give you will be the best because that term is subjective to each person.

what i will say its the best cue value i have ever came across. the cue is a premier sneaky...yea a cheap import.

i have a dozen cues ranging from 25.00 to 3,000.00 and this cheap import is the best playing cue i have.

the only way to tell it from a house cue is the small black letters on the bottom of the butt that says premier. you have to look hard for the joint.

i bought it because i did not want to take my more expensive cues to vegas. it turns out i played the best i ever have out there with this cue and it has become my daily player.

Mueller's house made sneaky

I like the one from Mueller's.

The one I got from them is a very good player. Straight as an arrow a few years later. Not a bad price either.

I'd also highly recommend anything from Summit Cues. They build a great cue - but it may not be "plain" enough for you? http://www.summitcue.com/

Then there is always the Sneakiest Pete cue from TNT Billiards. Again - a very good build and a true Sneaky. http://stores.ebay.com/TNT-Billiard-Products/SneakiestPete-Cues-/_i.html?_fsub=1464816011

Yep, I bought it from the bar for $10 and a friend's spare house cue and then paid, I think, $40 to have it cut. Still has the rounded bumper, dings and dents. I had the ferrule replaced because the old one was chipping off from the tip being about paper thin. Each of the three times I brought it in(cut, ferrule/tip and tip), I was asked if I wanted it cleaned.. absolutely, 100% refused to have that cue changed any more than necessary. You're right that most are standard length or shorter - in my cue's case, about an inch or two shorter.

$50 for about the sneakiest pete you can find and the best cue for me so far. It's paid for itself long ago.

Pechaur Sneaky

I have a pechaur Sneaky , its a true sneaky but the curly maple forearm kind of gives it away plays great and very stiff hit , I think I gave 280 for it so its on the high side for a sneaky.

J&J Makes a great sneaky for about 70-80 dollars they are imports but they play well and are very plain , Players also makes a good sneaky for about the same as a J&J

Good Luck in your search

If new is a must then i have no idea but if you are looking for the "best" cue I would check eBay for a Scruggs sneaky pete...the ones I have seen in good condition usually sell in the $400-$500 range...exceptional cue and hits like a truck.Every once in a while there is a listing for an unused one if new is a must but you will probably have to pay $200 more..saw a new one last month with 2 shafts but didnt see if the reserve was met or if it was sold at all.

I have a rage sneaky that I break with...it hits good and it must be sneaky enough because every other time out I go to grab my break cue and its not there...I generally find someone on the next table over playing with it...I even found it in the house cue rack once, I went to grab it and some guy was like you dont want that one, the tip sucks lol...

Keith has converted several valley supremes by request. I can help you out if you'd like. Let me know.

My cut bar cue hits like a goddamn freight train. More playable than a plastic bucket to a street kid. Price alone saves you enough to buy a gross of Kamui tips.. AND chalk!

I would agree that Scruggs sneaks are great players...at least the wood/ wood piloted ones.

For the money though, I think Philippi's cues offer more bang for the buck.

Yeah, I said it.

Schmelke Rosewood with wood to wood joint, and it's a $99 at Billiards warehouse... not really sure how you can beat that :) Made in USA, great customer service, and it's under a hundo.

Gotta be a reason some custom cue makers still use Schmelke blanks :)
