Hello Everyone,
Earlier today when ESPN3 decided to delay programming again I was on my Roku 3 here at home looking for another way to watch it and stumbled across a free plugin in their store for The Billiard Channel by Inside Pool. I don't know how many of you have Roku Devices but I had not read anything about it on here so I thought I would share it with you all. It seems like a good channel they had a tourney on there before the Mosconi cup earlier today in Florida.

I noticed it too.

I really enjoyed the fact that I could watch the full Mosconi Cup tape at leisure on demand on the Watch ESPN on Roku. I was amazed at how many channels they've added - a lot are free or very low cost. Good stuff!

Not all people are into streaming but the New Roku 4 now offers 4k streaming capabilities. It is really slick. I have only a few channels through my cable provider but I can watch many channels for free over the web with my Roku.

I am not familiar with Roku. How much does Roku 4 cost and how does it work? Does it display over a television or over a computer monitor? Do you have to have a service like "Dish Network" to get it? Is it subscription or free?

Roku is one of the first streaming boxes that hook up to TVs, different models range from $50-$130. Recently they also partnered with TV manufacturers to make "Roku TVs" which means you can buy a TV with Roku built-in.

It is pure online streaming - just need a reliable broadband access. You add "channels" that you're interested in, and the channels could be free or subscription based.

I have owned a Roku 3 for years and must say it's one of the best and most used gadgets for the family.

Sorry man, you're about a year or so late for the party.

It's worth watching when there isn't much else on. I got tired of it a bit when it seemed that I often would have to watch the same thing that I just watched the day before... without a fast forward to the next broadcast. You never seem to know what you're going to get when you open it up. Sometimes you get really great matches... occasionally you get to watch a couple of guys trying to see who can miss the most shots in a match.
It's free and entertaining most of the time though (less the repetitive commercials).

How and where do you get Roku? What is the cost?
Thanks,
Phil

It is a streaming box. Basically what it will do is take a standard non smart TV into a smart tv. You can add channel apps to it off the internet some are free others cost money as well as some may requre subscriptions to work as well. For example they have channels for Amazon, netflix, facebook, billiards channel, vudu, Hulu, slingo, emby. The streaming box does require high speed internet I believe min 2-4 Mbps. I may be mistaken on that number. They are readily available at major chains stores including Walmart and online at amazon. I have owned two Roku 3 here for a few years but am excited to upgrade to the Roku 4 as it will support a higher definition then the previous models and voice control and a few other new features as well. I believe the roku 4 retails for $129.
