Well people. this is a story about a long lost mailed cue. (funny)
As everybody on here knows by now. Last November 30th i mailed a cue to another member on here as a Xmas gift. That member is Soljarte and he lives in Belgium. from my other posts on here about this cue being lost, you will remember that after 2 months this cue never arrived at his address.
now let me start at the beginning of this saga:::
Anyway, when i first started this endeavor i went to 1 of those UPS stores (1st mistake) and the clerk told me that it would cost roughly $90.00 or so to ship it ups. When i tell him that this is way to much as the cue only cost me $200.00. He tell me that he can send it by mail cheaper. For only $32.00 he can ship it thru the postal service as they do collect and ship mail for the local post office. So i say go ahead and send it that way. He NEVER told me that it was going last class/bulk mail and that it could take months to get there. After always checking with Soljarte and finding that it never arived and i go back to the ups store do i find out how it was mailed. fast forward another month...now middle of february...Soljarte (God bless him) sends me a Pm telling me that the cue finally arrived in Belgium. problem is, the local postman tried to deliver it to the address next door. That neighbor being away for a while the postman leaves a note in his mail box telling him of this package. He recognizes the name and takes it next door to the right address. So soljarte calls the local post office inquiring about this package. he comes to find out that they only hold it for about a week and then return to sender. So Soljarte informs me of this. Now i have been on the look out for this package since and it finally arrives today. What a trip this package has endured. Not only 2 crossings of the Atlantic by boat but it also arrives here POSTAGE DUE in the amount of $18.25...So anyway, i have sent Soljarte a note asking him what he wants me to do... But i thought that this was funny... Arriving postage due......oh, by thw way for those who are wondering...it is a brand new Plain jane (inlays in the butt only) JOSS cue with joint protectors...............mike
