I saw that cue in person and slowly fell in love with it, so much so, I had Paul build one for me.

Very hard question

At one of the first SBE I ran into John Wright and was immediately in awe at the prices of some of the cues. He was asking a little over $3K for a Balabushka and had cues a lot higher than that. THe Bushka of course was what caught my eye, a plain four pointed veneered cue (think Spain points) and some simple block work in the butt sleeve with stacked veneers. We exchanged information and he sent me photos of his current list of cues from sale. All were exceptional but it was the Balabushka that stood out. I am sure the cue would command 2X its asking price - even on a down market day like today.

Found this article when I was looking for some photos of John Wrights cue company. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1995-11-05/features/9511050345_1_collectibles-premier-brokers-electronic-technician Enjoy!

That is a beautiful cue! Knowing that there is more than one gives me hope! lol
Within the last 6 months, I've gotten engaged and bought my first house, next is a purple heart titlist! Baby steps, right? lol

I was 14 years old when I saw this cue. Joss N10

I was 14 and was sneaking into pool halls(In Singapore you have to be 16 to enter with or without adult supervision), there was one particular hall named Monster Cues that sold cues..I was in awe of a fully decked out Viking cue...oh those bling bling MOP...it had a price tag of about $900 then and it was the most expensive cue there...am glad i didn't have the money then..otherwise i'd be posting now in the "My most regretful purchase.."...

Palmer Model K

In direct answer to the question, what was the first cue I wanted, but could not afford? My answer is the Palmer Model K which is the cue directly influenced by the Paradise Diamond King.
