They are helping players everywhere improve their game tremendously

The tireless hours and dedication to pool and players is appreciated wherever they go.

Are you ready to do the 'slip n' jab?

Post here with permission from Zero X

ARE YOU READY TO DO THE 'SLIP N' JAB?' Watch as Tor Lowry teaches how to use the Slip Stroke and Jab Stroke.

The Slip Stroke is one of the best strokes for big tables. The Jab Stroke is an extremely short stroke which works great on bar tables.

Tor shows how to use both strokes then demonstrates their effectiveness.

As Tor prepares to head to Euless Texas in a few short days, the whole Zero-X Billiards team is excited to continue sharing more of his awesome pool lessons!

The lessons shown in this approximate 10 minute video are for more advanced players! Please feel free to share with your awesome pool playing friends!

Update from Texas

Dynamic and determined in Texas - David and Kathy Franklin (3 photos)
A note from Tor Lowry about David and Kathy Franklin, Texas-based participants in '14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment.'

"I was sad to leave Dallas but I had two great participants, now friends, in David and Kathy Franklin. They were great hosts and I was greeted by a house full of cats on every visit which was fun for me, since I love cats.

Even though David had to work the first week and missed quite a bit of training time, he remained determined and still put in late hours doing stroke drills and ball pocketing drills. The second week we focused much of our time on pattern play, kicking and breaking. David is a great kicker, whether it's one, two or three rails. He seemed comfortable with the systems and now even uses these systems for playing position. His breaking dramatically improved in the final few days.

He now needs to continue practicing his speed control drills and ball pocketing drills and before long I have no doubt he'll be cashing or winning some upcoming tournaments.

Kathy also did really well despite a physical ailment that hampered her table time. She improved her stance, so she's more comfortable on the table and she learned a great deal more about cue ball control. She plays really well for someone who is relatively new to the game and is a truly kind person who's fun to be around.

Both players were a blast to hang out with, along with their great cats! They even tried to give me one of their cats which was tempting if I didn't already have one.

I look forward with great anticipation to hearing about the continued progress and future success of this dynamic, determined couple. They're awesome people - a delightful couple who I believe in very much!"

Have fun out there :)

Hello-

Is Tor still taking applications for the show? I submitted one about a month ago and was just wondering how I can verify that he received it. The application was more of a Q&A form that you had to fill out then email to him. I don't want to miss an opportunity to receive his instruction. Thanks Chris

Hey Chris,

Its my understanding that Tor and company have received hundreds of applications. Tor reads each and everyone of them and then makes a selection based on the answers on the question form. He does this in addition to the 14 day boot camp.

Ya just gotta wait, he may not get up your until spring. They want to stay under the snow belt.

Thanks for asking. :)

The Zero-X------------ 2014 Schedule------------

Posted here with permission from Zero-X

'14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment' 2014 is coming! Here's the long awaited schedule (state by state/month by month) for Tor Lowry's tour! Beginning in March, Tor will be on the road again training lucky participants who were each chosen for a 3 - 14 Day one-on-one training at no cost. Tor travels to their state, pays all associated costs and works side-by-side with those chosen for the 14 Day challenge!

All chosen participants for this upcoming tour (you know who you are) are being asked to send an e-mail to Tor at zeroxbilliards@gmail.com providing your telephone number and best time to call - Tor will then contact you to discuss your scheduling and other details. He will be describing more about your training and what to expect and requests that you try to send your e-mail over the next couple of weeks!

We all know you're up for the challenge...it's grueling and of course not easy, but we assure you, if you apply yourself and maintain diligent practice, a positive attitude and a determination to be your best, your pool objectives will be met!

Also, if you've been chosen for the challenge and do not see your state listed on this schedule, please forgive our oversight and contact Tor at zeroxbilliards@gmail.com.

Be sure to watch for upcoming episodes from the 2013 tour and watch any you may have missed at: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYuUos0iwnvdBL8URuNvrNA

Begin post:
The "cat's out of the bag!" Episode 1 of '14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment' is here and ready for viewing. We hope you're as inspired as we are by the drive and determination of SGT Robert K Evans, U.S. Army (RET).

In this episode, we also debut two new pool-themed songs by our favorite singer/songwriter in Mikalene!

Tor prepared for months for his 14 days with Robert. Find out how in this episode.

We're excited for the 2014 season of '14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment.' It's our greatest hope that you will be too!

1st Day of filming in Reno, Nevada

You will want to see this video and follow the progress during the 14 day training. Its inspiring.

Begin Post:

'14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment' with Reno, Nevada based participant Robert Evans, Sgt, US Army (RET).

In this video, you'll see footage of Robert's playing several racks of ghost pool, and some 5 ball pattern play. This is typically how Tor begins with each participant, using the footage to analyze deficiencies in their game and develop a plan.

Tor helps Robert develop a new, stable bridge. They also work to develop a new, more stable and comfortable stance since Robert, in addition to losing his right hand while serving in Iraq, also suffered a back injury.

Imagine losing your dominant hand. How would you cope? Be inspired by the ways in which Robert's determination helps him relearn even daily skills, easily taken for granted.

Robert, after losing his dominant right hand while serving in Iraq, is determined to play the game he loves at the level to which he was accustomed before this tragic accident. He loves pool and he's very determined. Tor is determined to help Robert and truly believes that Robert will meet his pool goals, perhaps even exceed them.

We're convinced Robert is going to inspire many people as he continues his determined quest to relearn the game of pool. Follow his journey and be sure to cheer him on as he demonstrates what a high level of determination can do for any of us!

In this episode, Tor continues working with Robert on Center Ball Positioning and cue ball control. They begin to cover half-table pattern play, angles, planning the table run and playing the rails.

Watch as Robert begins to change his thought process relative to how he plans a table run and approaches his shots. He's definitely determined, a fast learner and working hard to reach his pool goals!

Tor travels to Reno, Nevada to help Sgt. Robert Evans, US Army (RET) regain his pool game. Imagine losing your dominant hand. How would you cope? Be inspired by the ways in which Robert's determination helps him relearn even daily skills, easily taken for granted.

Robert, after losing his dominant right hand in an IED accident while serving in Iraq, is determined to play the game he loves at the level to which he was accustomed before this tragic accident. He loves pool and he's determined. Tor is determined to help Robert and truly believes that Robert will meet his pool goals, perhaps even exceed them.

14 Days with Sgt. Evans

The 14 Days with Sgt. Evans will be ending soon, stay tuned for the final transformation. Being a Viet Nam vet i can relate.

Begin post:

'14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment Reno, Nevada - Sgt. Robert Evans, US Army (RET)

Robert's determined and passionate about his pool objectives and continues to work very hard to reach his goals!

Tor Lowry believes in him and is determined to help him! It's a winning combination!

In just a few days, Robert's '14 Days' will have concluded and you'll see the final results - proof of what determination and willpower can accomplish! We know whatever the end result is, will be great!

Continue to cheer Robert on as he continues his quest to meet or exceed his pool objectives. Honor him, a wounded warrior who fought for our country, only to lose his dominant right hand after an accident involving an IED in Iraq.

Think for just a moment how you would respond if you had to re-learn everything you once knew how to do using your dominant hand. Then, you'll understand what he's endured.

You'll especially understand how incredibly inspiring Robert is. His words: "I want to be known as a man who plays pool great for his skill, not as a man who plays pool great for a man with one hand," are so inspiring, for so many reasons. Please remember his story the next time you are faced with any challenge. Like Robert, you will be more likely to overcome your challenge if you remain fiercely determined to succeed at everything you dream of doing.

End post.

Go get 'em Sarg..........Semper Fi from a Marine vet.

Have fun. :-)
