The Happy Thread...The Happy Place.

Nice form.

A month or so ago I was in my local pool hall and there were some attractive young women playing on a few tables. They were obviously newbies and I realized that I was spending more time thinking about what was wrong with their fundamentals than I was ogling them.

I'm not sure what that says about me! I think the pool sickness is bad!

I'm not there yet, but I did think to myself that GRADY Matthews made a nice tackle for the Packers last week.

Lol. I picture Grady in the Snickers commercial in place of Abe Vigoda (you know, the one with Bettie White).

Randy,
There is has been efforts at starting a BCA type of league but it didn't get support and it was probably a timing thing. I would love to talk to you about what steps could be taken to start American Rotation at Chandleys. I know how much you like it and I can say for sure, especially after the way you showed me a few things in One Pocket that you are very conscientious pool player who wants more than the status quo. If you will be the wheel man with the American Rotation I think we would love to see it get going. Perhaps if we put out a flyer on it in the room that would help. I will do what I can but right now my focus at Chandleys is to help organize events. If one of those events is an American Rotation League that would be fine with me. I will try but right now I don't have the time to play until I close my other business or make better arrangements for it.

Ok sure I'll show you how to run it. I'm a paying customer just like everyone else. I tried to get thing moving back in Oct for Derby but we had only 5-6 players that could play at that time. I was going to do everything (collect moneys, Payout finals, setup the online live brackets on Challonge.com, coordinate players on an MMS message board, send out AmRo info email to everyone on the list etc) as I have already ran 3 sessions of AmRo out of the Pressbox in CLT.

At the time we had like 10 weeks to get 9 matched complete for the Playoffs into Derby-this week. (A motivated group could get everything done in less than 2 weeks btw). For more input you can ask Shannon Fitch what he thinks of this format and Championship as it got him to Derby. The next National Championship is at the BCAPL Championships at the Rio in Vegas in July.

Anyway after 3 weeks of announcing that I was looking for players in Oct, all of my AmRo Info and links got removed from their Chandleys FB site so I took that as a sign that they weren't really that interested. Maybe with your 'inside help' we might find the interest I was looking for to get things moving... You can run it for them seeing as how you've come into that roll. I'll show you how- Once you get started all you need is you cell phone. (You can be anywhere doing something else as the players do the work and report in) BTW We can play as many boards *(10 player Round Robin match play) between now and say MAY as we want ... Each Winner is an entry into the next National Championship *(or the following one-Players Choice) with moneys paid locally to the top 3-4 finishers in each board.

Its the best game in pool and the best deal for the players. All we really need is pool room Support. In this league We're looking for players that want to get better and who are (or would be) in the upper handicap range in leagues *(APA 6-7 in 8B: 7-8-9 in 9b) this is mainly because AMRO isn't a handicapped format for the national qualifier boards. Let me know if you need help as I'll never be the one to ask twice... Once bitten, twice shy as they say. But for AmRo I'll make an exception everyday of the week. Yes its that valuable to pool.

American Rotation is an awesome game

I agree Randy that American Rotation has a lot to offer Pool. We can certainly talk about what we can do to help you get it going.

I'm getting back in after 15 years away from pool and am finding my stroke is still sound. Just playing makes me happy, playing well more so. If anyone needs a reason not to be grouchy on here take some time away and it will change your perspective I think.
Show a little mercy on your neighbor.
