The Holy Grail is not Kamui Chalk

LOL. This post, or rather the kind of experience described in the post, should spell the end of the Kamui chalk boomlet. If this chalk causes skids that should be the death knell. Skids are worse than miscues because miscues can be easily prevented by stroking and chalking properly. Not so with skids, which are sort of like an act of God.

Of course, I don't know how much of a boomlet it really is outside AZB. I get out and about and play in two 14.1 leagues and I've only seen one guy using it. I would be very surprised to see any pro using it unless they were paid to, though Earl might try it to go along with the ass weights and his Sears Tower cue.

I can't wait until Kamui chalk is banned. Too freakn bad for the ripoff artists from Japan.

Anyone who complains about an entire $30 can't complain pool is in the toilet because no one spends $$.

Alligators and Crocodiles are still around and doing fine.
Players don't need Kamui Chalk, Tips or LD shafts to play the game at a very high level. I am still amazed that people are so reluctant to admit this. Once humans buy something they often spend a lot of time defending their purchase and often try to get others to purchase the same gear to validate their expenditures.

If people want to spend their money on laminated shafts, LD shafts and over priced chalk that's all well and good but if they think it will make them a better player with out putting in the time to develop their game they, in my humble opinion are fooling themselves.

You must have grown up in the country? Strip down all the cue chalk, no labels..A blind test. Let someone "brush it" down for a game or two, I don't like a "fresh" piece of chalk, gotta warm it up.

Blind test..Ya can't tell the difference. It's horse sense....you can buy a GROSS of Master chalk for 20 bucks. One piece of Kamui is 28 bucks. It's WAY past the point of dimensioning return. I would challenge anyone to justify it.

Get over the "Fatal Attraction". Just my humble opinion. It's still a "theory" that it's any better than Master/Brunswick, nothing is proven. Great marketing.

Practice is the Holy Grail. Buy a 28 dollar chunk of chalk and suddenly you are Efren "Bata" Reyes. Who is the marketing manger? Sign him up. A fool and his money are soon parted. Give any top level pro a simple piece of Master/Brunswick Chalk.....and whip out your fancy Kamui chalk and see what happens.

It ain't the arrow....it's the archer.

This reminds me of teh book written that let's you know "the secret" as to what makes the Phillipinos so good at pool. Practice. Imagine that. I paid to read this book and the secret is practice. I don't think anyone ever said Kamui chalk will make you a superstar. I happen to love the chalk and have improved my game as well. So be it.

There's nothing humble in your opinions, you spout your version of reality as if it's the only truth to be had. I wonder if you and Marty sip the same tea.

PS: I doubt my Kamui is going to stalk me if I abandon it.

You're one of those guys that says, "I'm gonna split em!", when you play a carom, aren't you?

chalk

I agree about pro's, they can make you look silly with a house cue and cheap chalk, that's a fact. I don't know about spending 30 bucks on a piece of chalk but I did buy some of the Blue Diamond chalk. I have masters and blue diamond and the only thing I noticed about the Blue Diamond was that it covered the entire tip and stayed on longer than the Masters.

It's not the Holy Grail either but I do like the chalk...also the one piece I've been using has lasted a lot longer than I expected and still has a ton of life left in it...barely gone down. I haven't noticed any unusual marking on the table or the balls at home with Blue Diamond.
