Yep! Danny Medina and Jimmy Mataya! The video was called, "How to Hustle and Not Get Hustlled." Pretty funny actually.

Do you know when Jimmy and Danny made it and why? I'm thinking it was a promotional film done for something. Thanks!

It's contained on the DVD's I have with Mosconi & Fats....I've been playing around trying to record and upload various parts to YouTube.

Kinda fun stuff! ;)
 
Im not sure when it was made, but Jimmy Mataya (aka Pretty Boy Floyd) had a video with alot of hustles like this on it. One that was pretty good was where he went into a poolroom dressed as a painter....it was kinda cheesy, but funny.

LOL here. Very enjoyable, thanks. I had the pleasure of seeing Danny Medina play in Oregon a few years back. He entered a tourney being held in Springfield. The top amateurs of this area were easily beaten by him...he's deadly.
 
This part was filmed at the Auroura Pool Hall in Denver Colorado (if I am not mistaken), back in the late 80's. It came out about the same time as "Play With The Best". The best part of that video was the open scene at some rinky dink little bar with one table. Mataya played drunk and it was hilarious. The whole thing was just a spoof and a half. I think I've watched it about 15 times. We used to quote it a ton when I was younger.

I also had that video 10 or 15 yrs ago, it was the funniest thing I ever saw, Jimmy Mataya dressed as a painter and bringing a ladder into the bar with him. I try to use that hustle at least twice a week :D

We did the same thing..."That's a fine shot"....LOL
I still have the Video on VHS in the original sleeve.
I will take a photo of it and post it when I get home.:D
 
Good video,you just never know.One time me and my friend are a t abig tournament,he say "These guys dont look like much.",i respond "Well whats a poker player supposed to look like?",its the same in pool,cant judge a book by its cover i guess.:cool:
