It just started 15 minutes ago, and I tuned in just in time for "...like the church of the good hustler."

i'm watching it for the first time

My wife gets angry when I put it in our DVD player. I can't imagine why. I mean, I've only played it a hundred times or so...

I bought this DVD, even before the studio released it in the USA. I sought out the Asian release which the late Raist Chin did me a favor and got me one off the streets of his town. He had already told me it was the great quality dvd and it was. The later American dvd had extras, but the actual movie quality was the same.

Speaking of old great movies, has anyone seen "the Cincinatti Kid"? Its a poker gambling movie, but I have heard most pool action junkies like myself like this movie alot.

Speaking of "The Hustler", does anyone know whatever happened to Ames Billiards. I played there a couple of times when I visited New York City years ago. Don't imagine it's there anymore.

I couldn't begin to imagine how many times I have seen this. I always watch though.

Missed it again!

Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the DVD to turn up again. Due to be reissued in June, I believe.

I believe that the studio for "Good Morning America" or "America Today" is now in that spot. I
think I might have read that on this forum in an older thread. Somewhat ironic, as in the state
of pool in America today.

Thanks Whitey2 for the update on Ames. You're so right about the state of pool today. I don't understand it because pool is such a great game. It's a game you can enjoy even if you don't shoot well and it's relaxing even if you're playing by yourself.

I concur that is sad you have never seen this movie before. My favorite part of The Hustler is the first part at Ames, which you just got to watch.
