The Masters 2012 !

Confident Dott Progresses

http://www.sportinglife.com/snooker.../01/18/SNOOKER_Masters_Nightlead.html&BID=663

I took this match in with my son and I asked him what do you think of this match then ? He said it reminded him of playing down at the Lucky Break with his mates and nothing seems to happen and you end up smashing the balls in frustration . I had to agree but sometimes that's the way it goes in a match , no high breaks ,no high quality safety duels , nothing much seems to be happening but somebody has to win the match.

Yes, you might pay to see him in an exhibition, or a pool vs snooker novelty comp, but to include him in a serious snooker competition, solely with the intent of reaching a new demographic, would see the game descent into pure farce.

What next? Pro-celebrity events with Tiger Woods or Tom cruise?

Sorry, but you simply have no idea what you're talking about here. Alex would most likely crush most snooker players not just at snooker, but at any game you'd care to name, and that includes players ranked well up into the top 20. I'm not sure how he'd fare against some of the game's stars, but I promise they don't have to like it.

It's also not just about a new demographic, as in the Asians, but I happen to think all the UK fans would get a kick out of him too.

Take your head out of the sand sometime, bro. The world is a big place and the UK is not the center of it.

I don't think Alex could enter the snooker top50 now. Maybe if he started snooker and practiced it since he was a child ( and without take up pool, only snooker) he could be a snooker great, because he has huge talent. But thinking he could be a problem against a high level pro ( not an elite player, i talk about a solid top pro player) is only fantasy.

How Do You Get Alex 'The Lion' Pagulayan Into Snooker ?

Team Canada via the Snooker World Cup.:p:wink::D:thumbup::cool:

It is, obviously.

Alex P playing against ANY top 20 snooker player has NO chance whatsoever. Utterly laughable to suggest otherwise.

I seriously doubt he's in the top 200 in the world.

Anyway, enough with the Ronnie stuff. He's a bust flush. Just have to hope he doesn't become a grotesque parody of his former self, a la Jimmy White. I've no doubt he'll quit competitive snooker in the very near future - would be nice if he made the transition to pool.

He's not even a blip on the snooker radar top 1000.
The Canadians is a joke, only Brady was ever ranked back in the early 90's, and he doesn't even play, the rest are all amateur hacks.
lots of club players in the UK and beyond play To this level. Ever wonder why there is not one Canadian player on the tour?
I have heard all this nonsense before on this forum, do any of you even play?

Because you've seen him play how many times, exactly?

Meanwhile I have seen him play, and I've seen all the top snooker players both live and on tv going all the way back to the 80s as well, and based on what I've seen, if you put Alex up against just about all of them in a long match I promise they don't have to like it. Of course you will refuse to accept that, but your ignorance when it comes to comparisons between pool and snooker is well-documented on these forums. This is just another example.

Anyways, moving on. I think Ronnie's biggest problem is that he's just not hungry to win any longer. He's won tons of titles, buckets of cash, and he has a happy life. As such the pro circuit just doesn't have the allure to him that it once did, and in fact he probably would rather hang out at home with his kids than show up at the matches, and it shows in his play. Maybe the new shrink will help, but so far it hasn't.
