The most amazing shot...

I will take some action from some of your filipino dudes. I am not scared. You make the game right and rack your own and they got action. Dont get me wrong, some of them do play good, but most are just a bunch of cheats. Make more rack you own tourneys and see who will be winning more.

The below shot happened during some down time between match ups when the tour came through my town.A lot of the guys on the tour were trying this shot.Most didn't pull it at all (while I was watching) and one fella got it just about back to the side pocket.Then Larry Nevel did the following:

Larry did one of the most amazing things I have ever seen on a pool table....(really need to learn that cuetable site)...anyhow,this happened on a 9 footer.Standing at the short rail he put a ball right up against the rail a few inches away from the pocket,Nine foot away he put a ball in inch or so from the pocket.

With cue jacked up,almost at jump angle or higher he stroked the shot,through the rail (leaving chalk on the green) and actually shot draw on a ball that was literally frozen to the rail.

And you guys might think I'm lying,but I'm not.

The cue ball played the ball in the corner...and then it came back...all the way back to the rail it was shot from...and then all the way back to the other short rail and the almost all the way to the original rail again.
I'd call it 24 feet or draw or so.Shot on a ball frozen cue.THATS a power shot...the most amost amazing thing I've ever seen on a table.

Oh...EasyE saw it as well.It was nuts!

after looking at the shot, i can remember Earl Strickland making that same exact shot, only he only drew it back to the original spot to play the 9 ball that was sitting near the same rail as the cue ball was originally. He played that shot against Efren at a tournament that was held in Springfield Mass. Aboutt 15 years ago or so. Only difference is Earl jacked up and used a jump shot to do it. Still was an amazing shot either way...btw.....Efren still ended up beating him and Earl went off on a tirade about green cards or something like that..lolololol.........mike
 
I saw the shot Thunderball is talking about also but the one I liked the best was the cueball frozen on the longrail about three inches from the corner pocket and the eight ball about halfway to the other corner and straight in with the nineball in the middle of the other short rail. Larry jacked up on the straight in shot and the draw came back to three inches from the starting spot of the cue and took a very hard left down table to get perfect position on the nineball, and this shot would help you and me in alot of situations if we could shoot it like Larry.

I finally got out to play some goofy 9 ball this afternoon for 2 hours. I made shots on page 1 and 2, my opponent made the shot on page 3. What a day...

At the BCA Nationals this last May, I was staggering through the main room next to the sponsors' booths and see this guy hitting that exact shot. I stood there and watched him hit it about 15 times with him missing it only two times. I thought, "Who the hell is this guy? when I realized it was Larry.

Then, I thought, "That explains it!" and staggered on my merry way.

Years ago, I was at CJ's in Dallas and watched CJ practicing a similar shot only with the object ball frozen to the rail one diamond up from the corner pocket. He drew the cue ball back to the head rail 10 times in a row. Asked him later what he was doing and he said that shot had cost him a match and that he would never miss it again. After watching, he turned me into a believer.
