The most fascinating golfer at the Masters using a controversial swing

Moe REGARDING HUMBLE

moe had what is called autism or some form of autism

he was not acquainted with certain social skills
to recognize that he was the best striker of the golf ball in the world was just a matter of fact with him

these social skills prevented his golf from getting its due recognition

i never heard him speak critical of others

he was just matter of fact the most accurate goler to ever live

I read a book by one of his good friends...he felt Moe had a childhood injury to the head.

Moe liked to come around pool halls...never saw him hit a ball, though.
I was pleased that he remembered me from a small town pro shop...I was in my teens then.

Well, ya lost me again!..I'm sure you are a good player, and probably a good guy too!..But our differences (in basic pool theories) always seem to be at odds, on almost every issue!..So lets just let it go, and agree to disagree!

PS..So far, it looks like I was wrong about the Spieth/McElroy match-up!..Sure glad nobody took me up on any wagers. :o

There is no CORRECT way to play a shot unless there is only ONE way possible. I'm not talking about making a ball, I'm talking about getting position. Sometimes you are in a tight squeeze spot and there is only one way to escape and get on a track line that will allow you to get "your desired" position on the next ball. Then you use WHATEVER is necessary to get on that track line.

Once you are on "your preferred line" and the balls are open, you usually have several, if not many, ways to play the balls using angles for positioning for the next shot. You may choose a sharp angle and go one rail for position to the next ball, where I may choose a less steep angle and go two rails. The desired cue ball position for both of us may be the same, but we got there using different paths.

I prefer to leave myself angles where I can use the inside track and bring the cue ball towards the center of the table on each shot, while attempting to stay on the correct side of the object ball. I prefer going two and three rails for positioning (depending upon where the rest of the balls are the table) where some people will use less rails. It all depends upon each table layout.

There is no ONE WAY or CORRECT way as long as you end up where you intended to. How you got there doesn't matter...even if you get lucky.

Nobody has ever said TOI is the preferred method, only method, or correct method to play. It has been said to be a method that works and works well for some people who put in the time and effort to learn it. That doesn't mean people are locked into it and can't get out.

I think that is why there are a lot of misunderstandings, disagreements and arguments on here. People assume when somebody proposes something that they are saying it is the "correct" way or "way it should be", when it should be seen as an "alternative way that may work for some people". When you learn all the ways, you can choose which is best for YOU and use it, or blend it with the other methods you know and use.

In edit: Here is an article that may interest some people.

Please tell me what I am supposed to find of interest in your edit?..I find David's astute, but lengthy observation, to be pretty much obvious to any rational thinking person.(as are many of your profound observations, at times )..Its much like saying, "If an apple falls from a tree, it will almost surely go down"!..Everyone knows the cue ball does not have an internal motor, or a mind of its own..It can only react to what you do to it!

There of course, will be those rare instances where the trajectory of the cue ball, may be influenced by a chunk of dirt, or chalk in its path..This can only be described as 'divine intervention'.(aka 'luck')..We have all been the victim, or benefactor of that scenario!..Real world experiences, will always be much more enlightening, and infinitely more interesting, than stating the obvious!

The edit was to add a link for people who like reading pool information. It wasn't added just for you. If you don't like reading pool information, then you will have more time to look for your cartoons and stuff you add to the threads. There are tons of people who learn how to play pool while searching the cartoon images.

Yes, they can learn more from cartoon images, (that stress the topic at hand) than they can learn from old, redundant information that any pool buff with an IQ over 12, already knew anyway..Thats called 'boring'!

PS....Everyone is always eager for new information, but we already know what happens when you cue the ball
on the bottom! :o

Dick, glad you're back.
I must take exception to your falling apple statement. If said apple falls, but is caught in mid-air, and promptly eaten, then said apple will actually fall three times. Once by gravity, once by peristalsis, and a day, or so later, by peristalsis and gravity.
I find talk on this forum damned stimulating.

If you are bored, start a thread with some exciting stories or something. Make one up if you don't have one. Here, I'll make one up for you...tell us about the day you beat a drunk taxi driver out of $38 playing one-pocket and then drove him home and then he was your friend for life or something of the like.

Please, do anything besides moan and groan. One would think you have gas or something.

What you call "moaning and groaning", is simply pointing out the obvious, redundancy of your writing style, which most of us can't help but find extremely boring!..I keep hoping you will eventually make an effort, to come up with something new and useful! (and interesting) :(

PS..My stories at least have some chance of being of interest to someone besides 'TOI lovers'! ;)

I have yet to see any of your exciting stories and threads. I'll be staying tuned. FWIW, I created this thread.

If you don't like what's in it, then you can move along to another. You seem to having nothing to do but sit on here and critique stuff...do something...make up some stories for us.
