I had to go look and check out the Waterfall table: http://www.olhausenbilliards.com/pooltables_detail.php?id=29&cat=CONTEMPORARY

I haven't seen a table quite like that before, very contemporary. I also noticed that it comes in 7-, 8-, 8 1/2-, and 9-foot sizes.

I never heard of an 8-1/2 length either. :p

There is definitely a different "hit" between the Olhausen versus Brunswick, but I'll leave it to those who are more knowledgeable than I to say what the difference is.

FWIW, there are a few folks in my area who purchased the Olhausen brand for their homes, and they are quite pleased with the product.

I hope you get green cloth as opposed to the red shown in the picture. It is a beautiful piece of art, and if it plays as good as it looks, you'll be sure to have many years of enjoyment. JMHO, FWIW! :)

If you're interested in a Brunswick GC, I'd recommend purchasing a used older model. Going by the comments I have heard from pool players who are able to judge the differences of how they all hit, the general consensus is that the older GCs play the best.

Is it just me... or does this particular table remind you of Gumby somehow?

I guess I'm a sucker for traditional table styles and my guess is that a modern design like this would be harder to unload if you ever have to resell it.

Olhausen makes good, solid furniture style tables, as does Brunswick, and this one should be no different. It may not stand up as well as a commercial table (such as a Brunswick GC) but they are built for a different market.

My inclination if I was looking for a table would be to find a used GC. YMMV.

There are a few decent tables that you can buy that you didn't mention.http://www.pooltablesusa.com/construction.asp
I just found this web site by accident.Looks okay to me.
Connelly -Vitalie-Beach are a fewmore you might want to look at.
I prefer a table to be old fashioned with green cloth either dark maghoney or cherry wood.Modern tables look good but then seem to lose that look.I guess what I am trying to say is a old fashioned table will always look good 5 minutes after you have it or 50 years later.Your furniture tastes might change and a modern table wont fit in anymore.
JMHO
good luck with any decision you make.

Contemporary Tables...

I have to agree with other posters here, a pool table is a major investment and a large room filling piece of furniture...I'd go with a Traditional Style, if you want a more Industrial look, go Commercial, ie matte black Olhausen or Brunswick, (GC IV or Centurion); for retro styling I like The Gibson by Brunswick. I've played on that Brunswick Manhatten Table, it has WIIDDEE rails, just doesn't feel right and I don't think it or tables like it would fit in most peoples decor.
