There was a thread with quotes from Earl a while back. While reading over it I remembered an interesting quote about him. It came from the 1999 Billiards Yearbook and was written by Jerry Forsyth.

"Some players come along and you find them technically competent, but they don't win. They just don't have the fire and the ice it takes to bring it home. Earl can hold'em both with anyone. Sometimes he is fighting with the table, darting his focus from where whitey stopped to where it oughta be. His iris flames with displeasure, and anyone can become their vent. Other times he is making love to the slick green b***h, and she obeys his every twitch, sighs for every whimper. When it goes right his eyes glass over and Earl is all alone with his sweetheart, and she dances so pretty for him. I have seen his intensity bring an entire room to a freeze. Yeah when he moves right the man is something to behold."

Good quote. Regardless of what anyone says about Earl.... when he was right, hold on tight!!! To quote him, "They better put on their bullet-proof vests because they're gonna get fired-on."

That was no sheeit.

Another great Earl quote is the one in your signature. "You see any fools hanging round with me?" Priceless. I love Earl.

That's a great description of the game played at its highest level. Really reminds me how I got so addicted to it.

Earl, on seeing an opponent with a "home-made" cue playing against him in the World Championships in Germany in the early 90's, "if he beats me with that cue I will swim home."

Thank you soooo much. A rep for you too. It is so wonderful to turn on my computor in the wee hours of the morning and hear something positive about a great champion that has been struggling of late. Someone on this forum has a quote (and I will paraphrase here) They forget so quickley when you do something good. It seems they never forget when you do something bad.
So true, so true. I once worked at a company that allowed no negativity. One girl got suspended for the day for rolling her eyes during a meeting. They were dead serious.

As a result, we all got along, were very productive, and the best part is I actually got to see the good in people that I would have never assosciated with otherwise. Just my limited experience and I Thank you again for reminding me of it.

I had the pleasure of playing with Earl at Mike's house in SC. I tell you what... man when he's in gear the mothafukers a ferrari...

Its a shame what ppl say about him. I bet those same ppl watch him play in person and see a 50yard line shot and lick their chops thinking he's outta line and get their Earl sux lines ready...then they see him drill it and run out are the same ones that become Earl fans.

Your ppl are hypocrites! You see any hypocrites hanging round me?
