I grew up in one of the straightest families in the world and when I showed early intrest in pool in near killed the whole ffamily.

My step-father was a truck driver and took me on a trip with him from Arkansas to Atlanta. It was just boring as hell, but I was pretending to enjoy it as best I could. All he did was drive and yak on that CB radio and listen to othat horrible country western music. I was near ready to scream.

On thereturn trip, we were crossing Tennessee I'm pretty sure when this song came on the radio. I just loved it, he knew it and I could see fire coming from his eyes. He got so irritated by that.

Pretty soon we stopped at some truck stop to eat and low and behold they had a pool table. He came back from making some calls and saw me playing and decided he was going to teach me a lesson right then and there. He grabbed a cue and ordered me to rack em. He broke {like a sissy} and I ran out on him. You could see sparks coming off his bald head.

He put the cue away and it was time to hit the road. Away we went down the road and got maybe 100 miles away when that song came on a different radio station. My step-dad just turned it off, turned me off, and never talked about it again.

Thanks for the song. That was many years ago and brings back some funny memories. Must have been around 1966.
