the pic didnt post, it will be there tomarrow,

Mr. Wilson please leave it in the main forum for a day or 2, I have a pool story to go with it, that will be good instructional reading-it will be pool related and of good content,

i would sincerly appericate it, dont let the pic throw you off, I wnt to diccuss fitness and pool, and my findings over the years and how it related to pool, It will be probably 2 or 3 long posts. Its going to be about my experiences and what I believe others can do to improve their fitness level and their game, there was another thread on here recenty but had alot of bad info in it and some good too, I know more about fitness, body building than I do pool, I have done both for years to the extreme. and I want to share that story and especially how it works for me and alot of other people I have met, It will be new content not a dead horse thread, its an opinion and like cues there is no right one and what works for one person dosent the next guy. i'm really excited to share and help players. I have a extensive science background in school, I have assisted my Dr in Germany on many sugerys, I know alot about drugs(not just pain meds)

so all i ask is to keep the thread here and not be distrated by it, there are 2 reasons I want it up, it been seeen here before, i will get to the details later, I dont know about iron man training, or sports training for althletes, thats a whole nother game like 3C lots of similar stuff but a different world. I sincrly hope I can help some people here.

thanks

I usually do some fitness routines during my match, instead of sitting in my chair I do jumping jacks in front of the pocket they are shooting at. :p

if your playing 1P on a drop pocket table, plug the hole in the bottom of the hole, fill it anyway possible taking a pee works best, and let your customer have a shot he will hear a splash, let him win and rack, when he is taking out the balls in the bottm of the pocket he will get warm wet hands, its a strong move. just dont get caught.

i'm going to bed tomarrow i want to start my fitnss thread, I never had the genitice to be competitive, I'm far from being a great bodybuilder, but i'm knowlegable, So the pic isnt that impressive-so go easy on me.

my intention here is to help people/players do their best, believe me if I looked great I'd have my pic everywhere. I will also discuss self esteem issues and winning, kinda like Black Jack does. i'm only moderately successful in both sports-there are alot of paraellls betwee the 2, if someone wants to ask i will go over those too, given my experience, I have 23+15 years studying both didcpilns and playing or doing them.

cool, thx Bull for the pic,

tomarrow i will make some good posts aboutmy ecperience from being fat to fit, seeing that pic hurts, man if i didnt lose those 3 years i winer where i would be, i was 38 then primer years for big guys, gone it will take me 6 months to get like thay again,

the reason forthe pic is for credibility, it took me along time about 6 years the first 7 years i had bad trainers to build that body, i have had frinds who look better after 2 years.

this thread will only tell my story and be a open forum about training in the gym and pool, like never train chest/pecks when you plan on playing, your pecs do the majority of the work, when they are jelly from training or sore the next day you will see, funny thing i you can train Bi's and Tri's and it dosent hurt your game much.

I'm off to bad, i really want to ansere questions about others-NOT me, i may relate the anseres to myself but this aint about me!!! Some guys help alot in the 14.1 forum, or the ask he cue maker, well this is to discuss opinion questions, hell i hope I learn alot with this thread, since players dont have the habits of yesteryear, I thought a monster thread about self improvment is better than all the destructive shit here lately, please dont fvck it up by slamming me, i'm realistic and know i'm not body builder on the outside but I do know the inside of the sport, and how its possible to be fit snd not have the gym ruin your srtoke.

so again lets learn not bash, i'm tired of the cue was late, i lost a bet, you wont play me, all that nrgitive shit is one of thr other reasons i left pool, its actually possible to be happy and play good if not better.

i'm going to bed, thanks gentqmnen and the laydes

ps i know the spelling is way off i'm beyond sleepy

I tried that, didn't work. So I added a triple lutz while standing on my head farting in tune with the national anthem. Still wouldn't open.

It's just a picture, right? WT McF with the rubic cube instructions?

Me <--- gave up on rubic after 12 seconds

Eric,

Cool topic for discussion.

I worked out 6 days a week just after high school.

"Weights before dates and curls before girls" :)

But the 18+" arms got me plenty of girls.....:D

I went from 180 lbs to 225 in one year, no drugs.

Then came marriage, kid, house, work, etc....

I hadn't worked out in 20+ years, just started back at the gym a couple of months ago.

I wondered how working out again would affect my pool game, not that it is that great to begin with.

I was pleasantly surprised that I actually started shooting much better after working out for a while. That was two months ago.

Now after a vacation and a bathroom remodel, I am getting back to the gym. It feels really good to work out again and the compressed discs havent' been hurting either!!

Just my .02 - get your ass to the gym!!

Russ......

Gyms are all very well but it depends what type of fitness you're seeking e.g you are never going to get the type of fitness required to play a serious level of rugby or soccer or squash or tennis or run a marathon etc etc solely by working out in a gym.

As for bodybuilding, that type of focused training/working out and the body condition resulting from it would not necessarily help you to play all sports and would be just as likely to be a distinct disadvantage to you in many sports, especially those sports requiring great flexibility.

I can't see how body building is ever from a purely physically angle going to help anyone play significantly better pool, unless just from the mental angle where if someone genuinely and strongly believes it helps, then it probably will, just like anything else you strongly believe works would to a degree help you mentally and as a result quite possibly make you stroke better.

I will put up a bodybuilder against most anybody in flexability, where do you get your information??? It's people like you spouting misinformation that keeps alot of people out of the gym & unhealthy. If you don't know what you're talking about please stay quiet. You not only look better with weight training you also feel better & it will improve your play!!!

Did anybody say they wanted to play serious rugby or squash???

Yeah gymnasts don't work out. This has to be the worst post I have ever seen.

I remember back in high school I thought about working out once. Still to this day I think about working out. Does that count for anything?

Keep yer hair on. Read it again. It's a pretty appalling post but if you think it's the worst you've ever seen you haven't been reading many on here:smile:

Why would anyone think that you'd get banned for anything in this thread?

1. I didn't say that anybody said they wanted to play rugby or squash. The sentence that contains comments about other sports clearly says that gyms are fine for training for some sports. It's a general comment and I didn't realise I needed your permission to make one.

2. I never even mentioned gymnasts and certainly didn't imply that they don't work out. If you are inferring that gymnasts need to be flexible and can still be flexible even though they work out I totally agree. However they wouldn't be as flexible if they did only the focused gym work that body builders do.

Then you'll lose.

It's people like you spouting misinformation that keeps alot of people out of the gym & unhealthy.

Can assure you I've persuaded a lot more people into gyms and fitness training than I have ever dissuaded from it.

If you don't know what you're talking about please stay quiet

If you don't understand what you are reading don't jump to conclusions and comment on it.

You not only look better with weight training you also feel better & it will improve your play!!!

Tend to agree generally speaking but the whole point of my comments were that focused specific body building training won't necessarily make everyone play pool better and certainly won't make everyone play ALL sports better than other fitness training might help them too. It isn't a catch all.

Don't know why you're so offended, each to their own preferred method of fitness training.
