That the guy...Funky Cold Medina..by the way Danny says that the Tone Loc Hit song ..Funky Cold Medina was written about him when Tone saw him playing pool and they hung out a bit back in the day...

Tone Loc played at me NightClub, Carsons LIVE in Dallas. I talked to him and he knew I played pool, but he never said anything about his hit song being about a pool player....I read the song title refers to a fictional aphrodisiac, which is presented in the accompanying video as a steaming love potion. The lyrics tell the tale of Lōc's initially unsuccessful attempts to attract women. At the suggestion of a barman, he plies his intended with "that medina thing." He first tests the drink on his dog, who immediately latches onto his leg and attempts to arouse himself sexually, and subsequently becomes quite popular with his fellow canines.

nine racks may have been his best tournament record, but I saw him break and run 13 at table Steaks in Denver, then 12 a few days later. That table was no cream puff either.
he also ran 11 on me out in Reno, but that was just for dinner. He had Prime Rib and I had a bowl of soup!!

Either way I can see how Danny could relate to it being about a "player" who is hunting "action" in bars and pool rooms......and his name IS Medina.

In my visits with Danny last August in Denver, he spoke of being jarred at least 3 times in bars. Hopefully no-one slipped him a little Funky Cold Medina! :shocked:
