I'm not on the list, but watching the bracket results and rooting for John. He'll most likely have to get through Morris, and then after that Duel or Mika. Tough next couple of rounds, but after that, I like his chances.

I got to see John's 1st match against Walter Blacker. He started out a little slow (the rolls weren't kind to him, either), but really seemed to pull it together when he was behind 7-5 and went on to win 10-8. One of the highlights of the match came early, when John fired in a full-cue jump shot (with his cue elevated to about 60 degrees) on the 1 ball and held it nicely for the 2. It's really a shame we don't get to see much full-cue jumping anymore, I think it's one of the more beautiful shots you'll see when executed well.

I agree. Johnnyt

2 Down, and Rodney is next..... I really like Rodney as a player, I had the opportunity to meet him last year and talk to him briefly. I feel for him, but John is going to steamroll past him and anyone else in his way....The Schmidt List will not be Denied! We are the Schmidt List and we cannot be defeated.....

If you get the chance could you listen to what the pros have to say about the Gabriel Tables. I have heard nothing but good things about them but it has been limited reports. As long as there is no crowd hanging around, the pros will discuss the table playing conditions with candor.

It looks like there is a lot of top speed at the tournament.

Thank you for the match report.
Thanks,
JoeyA
